This good was soooo flavorful! I haven’t had food this tasty in such a long time. Unique flavor profile and even with the no pork option… my taste buds were happy! Added bonus, the bourbon bread pudding was DELICIOUS! I will 100% return again. *also, the service was great! out server was very attentive and our food came quickly!

Great atmosphere. Delicious menu with new takes on gumbo and other classic dishes. The food and the drinks did not disappoint!

This was a great choice for a small business lunch on a chilly day. Easily accessible from FiDi on the 1 train and worth it for trying something new and different. We're looking forward to coming back.

This was my date and I’s first time ever at Filé Gumbo. He recently had a trip to Louisiana and said that the food at Filé was a good runner up to what he had in Louisiana. I tasted his jambalaya (first time ever for me) and it was really good. I had the shrimp creole and my eyes rolled back to their sockets for how well cooked AND flavorful everything was. As for the drinks, I forgot the name of my drink but it was spicy and super delish. Would’ve had two but I had work in the morning and wanted to drink responsibly. Last but surely not least, our waitress Patti was such a delight and almost made me forget I was dining in NY (NYers are not known for their hospitality which I know firsthand having lived here for over 20 years) Thank you Filé and Patti for a memorable night.

The place is small but very nice, I ordered the pork chop, which unfortunately was tough and tasteless. My daughter had the spicy shrimp creole and my son had the jambalaya with andouille sausage and shrimp, they both liked their meala. For dessert we shared the strawberry pound cake and bourbon bread pudding with ice cream which they were both good, our drinks good as well. I would definitely come back, but order something different, overall I had a nice dining experience

We were excited to have some gumbo and shrimp creole but got a watery version of them. Sad face. :/

We wanted to try the gumbo but honestly it had a burnt taste to it. I don’t know why it tasted like the bottom of a burnt pan. However, the peach sangria was a 10 out of 10.

Really tasty food, portions were way too big. Would’ve been nice to have smaller portions and bring down the food cost as well.
