It’s next to impossible to get real file gumbo outside of New Orleans except for here. I ordered mine mild “all in,” which means chicken, andouille, crab, and shrimp and it was ridiculously good. The dark, thick roux base filled the bowl with deliciousness. Like velvet and on point. The broccoli Caesar salad was creative and spicy. Roasted broccoli crowns with Parmesan shavings and croutons on a smear of spicy Caesar dressing. It’s brill! I had the poundcake with bourbon caramel drizzle and strawberries, and it was moist and luscious. Not overly sweet, it was the perfect way to top off the meal. Service was warm and friendly and not rushed at all. Well lit and not noisy, I was able to enjoy my meal and my two guests in conversation. Well, well done!

This restaurant was amazing. Nice vibes, love the set up and ambience of it all. The food was out of this world. Authentic Creole food. Every dish is a hit. U won't be disappointed.

Food was mid. The Gumbo needed some flavor. Very bland. The oysters were good and crawfish toast. Make a good French 75 tho. Our waitress had an attitude the whole time. Through the jazz music she was still being rude. Would I come back? No. For drinks ? Maybe but I feel like there’s better places to try

File' Gumbo Restaurant BAR was one of the best Gumbo Restaurants I have ate at. My meal was delicious. They serve you a good portion. My friends and I really enjoyed the service. Pattie our host, was the most. She gave excellent service. I will go back again. Thank you to the staff at File' Gumbo Restaurant Bar.

I was really excited to try this place out. Although there were loud guest, the staff was friendly and welcoming. I had bigger expectations of the food. For starters, we had the fried seafood and char grilled oyster which were amazing! But the main course and beignets were lackluster. I ordered the gumbo the seafood was cooked to perfection but the roux tasted burnt and the spicy shrimp Creole was spicier than it had flavor and again the roux was burnt. I would try this place again to give it a second chance since the appetizers were so delicious

I’ve been eyeing this place for a while and decided to take a chance and and go for my birthday. The BEST decision I’ve made. The service was impeccable. Our waiter Sam was the sweetest guy, very attentive , and quick ! We never felt forgotten. He even encouraged me to try oysters for the first time & they were phenomenal! He had the live band play happy birthday for me. It was so sweet. The food was so good. I had the chicken and beignets. My friends had the gumbo and buttermilk biscuits and they all said everything was great. Will definitely be returning!
