The service was great and very attentive but the food was just meh. Overpriced and underwhelming. I’m not sure why the other reviews are so high but I felt the food was uninspired and tasted kind of frozen or maybe even canned, sadly

Service was impeccable , the appetizer scallops were out of this world , the wild boar lasagna is our absolute favorite , we order it every time we come here , and the chocolate flourless cake with the bottle of red wine was unforgettable! We love going to Ferros every time we come to idyllwild !

We loved Ferro! It has a great atmosphere, but not too loud to hear one another talk. We tried lots of unusual things like boar lasagna and rabbit pasta, as well as more standard fare like seared scallops and ceasar salad. All the food was absolutely delicious! The servers were all friendly and nice. We had dinner early on a Tuesday, thinking that we'd be the only people there, but this place was hopping even then! So, a reservation is a must, and sitting on the back patio is very fun. We will definitely go to Ferro again when visiting Idyllwild. The best part was that the restaurant was right down the street within walking distance of the Silver Pines Lodge, where we were staying (which I would also highly recommend).

I ordered a Stoli Martini and all I could taste was the vermouth, just awful. I had the waiter bring me a shot of Stoli to top off glass, since I did drink some. When he returned with it he said the bartender added no vermouth to first drink. I was charged $32.00 for the drink. Will never suggest goint to this restaurant.

The food is outstanding and the service was great. The owner and chef Frank visited our table and shared some history. Great place to get away from the heat . The town was not busy, so that made it better

This was our first visit to Idyllwild and everywhere we ate was great, except Ferro. Truly disappointed in our visit on September 7th. It was very noisy, and the service was extremely slow. I ordered the Linguine Fra Diavolo. The lobster tail, prawn, and scallop were perfect. However, the main part of the dish was the linguine, this was horrible. It tasted like past boiled with no salt or other seasonings. If you've ever had pasta when a chef forgot to add salt to the water, you'll know what I mean. It took forever to get our drinks and food and to have the main part of the dish taste like this wasn't acceptable. I mentioned this to our server, and she said 'oh, I'm sorry you didn't like it' and said we had a large party in the back and the kitchen was blown away and she walked away with no other comment. We thought for sure she was going to tell the chef to prepare another linguine. She didn't. She came back to ask if we wanted desert, and we of course said no. She came back and gave us the check in a wooden cube that holds the bill and a slot for your credit card. To our surprise 'again', the entire amount of my plate was charged even though I complained about the main part, the linguine. So, my meal was $48 for 1 scallop, 1 prawn and a small lobster tail. We couldn't wait to get out of there and would not only never go back, but we also wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We're very impressed with this restaurant. The food was thoughtfully prepared and delicious while the service exceeded every expectation. We mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary and server later presented us with a card...very special and thoughtful. We were there on a evening w/oa band, dined on the lovely back patio and it was an amazing dining experience. Will definitely return when in the area and highly recommend.

I arrived shortly after 4:30 for a 5:30 reservation (hungry early!), and they accommodated me promptly. My dog and I sat on the outside back patio, and the waiter promptly brought her a bowl of water. I was delighted with the long list of alcohol-free cocktails, since I was my own designated driver that night. I had a delicious alcohol-free Negroni followed by a quinoa salad. The waiter was just the right amount of attentive. This was my "treat night" on a camping vacation, where my other meals were cold cereal, peanut butter sandwiches, and leftovers brought from home. It was definitely a treat, and I will be back the next time I camp in Idyllwild.

The atmosphere and service at Ferro are first rate. Very nice back patio, where we dined, attentive server, no complains. The food was not bad for the most part, except the oysters - those were not good at all. Not sure what happened, but they tasted like they have been soaking in water and plopped on top of the shell for serving. Avoid those. Otherwise, pleasant experience in Idyllwild

We sat at the pizza bar and had Amber as a server. An excellent experience! It was nice to come in the summer and sit outside (we are usually up here in cold weather months). Delicious clams, Panzanella salad with summer tomatoes and a pizza. We will be back.
