We're very impressed with this restaurant. The food was thoughtfully prepared and delicious while the service exceeded every expectation. We mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary and server later presented us with a card...very special and thoughtful. We were there on a evening w/oa band, dined on the lovely back patio and it was an amazing dining experience. Will definitely return when in the area and highly recommend.

I arrived shortly after 4:30 for a 5:30 reservation (hungry early!), and they accommodated me promptly. My dog and I sat on the outside back patio, and the waiter promptly brought her a bowl of water. I was delighted with the long list of alcohol-free cocktails, since I was my own designated driver that night. I had a delicious alcohol-free Negroni followed by a quinoa salad. The waiter was just the right amount of attentive. This was my "treat night" on a camping vacation, where my other meals were cold cereal, peanut butter sandwiches, and leftovers brought from home. It was definitely a treat, and I will be back the next time I camp in Idyllwild.

The atmosphere and service at Ferro are first rate. Very nice back patio, where we dined, attentive server, no complains. The food was not bad for the most part, except the oysters - those were not good at all. Not sure what happened, but they tasted like they have been soaking in water and plopped on top of the shell for serving. Avoid those. Otherwise, pleasant experience in Idyllwild

We sat at the pizza bar and had Amber as a server. An excellent experience! It was nice to come in the summer and sit outside (we are usually up here in cold weather months). Delicious clams, Panzanella salad with summer tomatoes and a pizza. We will be back.

Restaurants come and go with alarming speed in Idyllwild - hope this one lasts. Very lovely rear patio and front porch to sit on and very, very good food. Among the other very strong service notes, they welcome dogs on the porch and patio, which was fun. A little more pricey than we would have hoped, but that is food in a mountain town for you. At least it wasn't the $14 we spent on a mediocre bagel up the street the next morning!

Fabulous dinner! GREAT service! My husband and I had a wonderful time enjoying the back patio. From the breadsticks with butter and olives to our main dishes, everything was tasty. I especially love their pizza oven on the patio. You can watch your pizza being baked! It was everything I was craving. We love Ferro’s!!

Delicious dinner and delightful dessert! Our waiter, Bryan, was attentive and funny. The music, Jazz Grass, was out of this world!

A wonderful find in the small mountain community of Idyllwild, CA. A small Italian restaurant with several seating areas from the lounge to back patio, front patio and balcony. On our visit we were in the Lounge (Bar) which was quiet compared to the crowd on the rear patio which was enjoying the Tuesday night live jazz. Spiros our server was wonderful, informative, attentive, fun to spend time with and reminisce about year’s gone by in Idyllwild. We shared their olives and breadsticks (the herb butter was yummy), along with Carpaccio de Manzo, Bianca con Pepe (pizza with olive oil, garlic, mozzarella, Pecorino-Romano, black pepper), two glasses of Ferrante Chianti, Raspberry Sorbetti, a Cappuccino and Expresso with one of the best Limoncellos I have had (house made!). Highly recommend and make a reservation.

Food was great and the service was exceptional. Our server was very prompt and attentive. On slight negative was the several dogs brought by diners to the patio dining area. There were about 7 or 8 dogs, and some of them barked quite a lot. Definitely annoying. But eventually the noisy dog people finished up and left…. Overall very enjoyable and high quality experience. We’ll definitely be back!
