Have been here numerous times and have no complaints re food and value for money. The service was appalling. The server sat us next to a table of 8 men golfers and the noise not acceptable. We asked to be moved which was not a problem as the restaurant wasn’t busy. We sat at our new table and were basically ignored by our server. I actually went back to our previous table and retrieved the water initially provided. Our order had been placed before the golfers arrived, but the server was concerned about getting the golfers their cocktails prepared. We finally flagged down another server and asked her to get our meal, which she did promptly. Thankfully it wasn’t cold. I do have problems about returning to this venue any time soon.

Dinner was a 10! Service was 10+. Enjoyed it and will be back monthly to eat. Cheaper than a crappy chain restaurant. Tips are earned here. Server was beyond exceptional and was very pleasant and helpful, and was this way from start to finish! ( nothing worse than a server who only becomes pleasant when the bill comes) .

We have always enjoyed dining here - our food experience wasn’t the best we’ve had in the past. My friends ordered the beef sliders and the Yorkshire was sooo hard, they thought they would break a tooth biting into it. They were rock hard. We pointed it out to our lovely waitress and she agreed and they were taken off our bill as a gesture of goodwill, which was appreciated. The rest of the meal was very good.

Booked last week with guests. After previous visits to The Farm and Founder this year was looking forward to the experience. The resurgence of Royal Ashburn decor and food service is notable. The new head chef is innovative in his food designs. Two ordered tacos and enjoyed thoroughly. Another the enchiladas. Very good and plentiful. The Farm and Founder is fast becoming the place to go for food in Whitby. Exceptional service by Avery. Thanks Farm and Founder for a great experience.

Food was great. Beautiful setting. However, not enough staff to make sure you’re well taken care of. The staff they do have are great, but are overworked

Server was absolutely great. And we got a warm welcome when we arrived. We enjoyed our meals and the menu had lots of choice and even accommodated some dietary restrictions and allergies. The decor is lovely as well.

Ordered the $22 chicken parm, the chicken had a foul smell to it (smelled like a wet rag) - and the breading looked brutal. I did complain and not eat it. When I asked if it could be removed from the bill I was told no “that there was no manager there to remove it from the bill” and offered a 1/3 of the cost dessert as compensation. Not great customer service, unfortunate to pay 22$ for an inedible meal. Won’t be back.

Great ambience. Very friendly and hospitable service. Lots of options on the menu and Friday night $10 starters are a great deal.
