Chef Sebby Holmes launched Farang back in 2016 after trading at street food markets throughout London. A year later he took up temporary residency in Farang's current home in Highbury & Islington. After excellent reviews, he took on the space permanently after his step-father retired and since, has gone from strength to strength.
Farang was recently inducted into the National Restaurant Awards top 100 and awarded a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand, which we have kept four years running. We also received the Thai select award from the UK Thai Embassy which certifies authenticity and the freshness of our ingredients.
We’re a young team of enthusiastic individuals, who over the last few years have bought our passion and skills to the table.
Parties of six and larger, kindly contact the restaurant directly for reservations. These larger groups will be offered the shared feasting menu only and a deposit of £10 per head needs to be taken to confirm the booking, which will be deducted from your bill.

We are offering a limited edition "Chicken & Chilli Sundays" ticketed event. Drinks and service charge will be charged on the day. As a sharing meal for group of 2 or more the whole table must opt in for the same menu. Tasting 65 per person x 5 dishes Feasting 80 per person x 7 dishes Please note these events are not suitable for vegans and vegetarians. These menus contains fish, soy, gluten, peanuts and crustaceans. The chefs are happy to cater for any reasonable dietary requirements given enough notice. Unfortunately some elements cannot be changed. As a limited ticketed event we are not able to offer a refund for any cancellation or no show. Lovely place and nice food. Two negatives- the stand in the middle selling foodstuffs completely blocks the restaurant. Second and this is a major bug bear. Your small plates I would imagine are most often shared and probably by two people. It’s so annoying when you get three of dish eg three chicken pieces. I would suggest adding to the price and going to four or reducing price and offering two.

Beautiful food, and service, as ever. Always a joy to return. The price makes it a treat but you get what you pay for in terms of quality and stand out flavours and service.

Delicious food - really punchy flavours and a lovely selection of Italian wine to pair with the food! We had a really nice and attentive waiter who made good recommendations. Really lovely Friday evening!

Amazing food, but kitchen struggle with servings. First 3 dishes from tasting menu came within minutes , then 35 min with no food and rest rushes again. Still great food worth waiting, but maybe person serving us could be less aggressive when I asked what's happening with serving time

Delicious food, authentic and fresh Thai flavours! The rout special small plate was a treat and the dipping sauce with the crackers was so good I was ready to order multiple bowls of it. The main beef curry was also a treat and the prawn small plate with betel leafs was a refreshing dish!

Whole Seabass is always a winner. Missed the usual salad I get here to have with it. I substituted with the only salad available - the watermelon salad which, while tasty, hit different.

I took my sister here for her birthday we had a great time. The food was lovely, the house red wine was delicious and the staff were amazing. We would go again.
