Named after Fanny Brice—the legendary movie, vaudeville, theater, and radio star portrayed by Barbra Streisand in her Oscar®-winning role in Funny Girl (1968)—the striking two-story, 10,000-square-foot space, conceptualized by the late architect Osvaldo Maiozzi, features a chef-designed open kitchen, elegant bar, and captain-based service style that nods to a bygone era, and offers diners cuisine by Chef Jun Bum Oh, with the support of Chef Eric Klein, SVP Culinary for Wolfgang Puck Catering. The restaurant is supported by Wendy Stark Morrissey, Brice’s granddaughter.

It was disappointing that the restaurant ran out of several daily specials as well as items on the regular menu which had been first choices. The food we ended up with was delicious so the end result was fine. It also took a LONG time to get drinks…

This was a bit of a disappointing experience compared to my first visit to Fanny's. Food was mostly very good - 3 dips appetizer, Jidori chicken, salmon - all very good. Some excellent wine, and a great World's Best Martini. Our server was exceptional, but the place seemed understaffed for a Saturday night. Some other dishes were either odd or missing something. While the 3 dips were great, the crudité came oddly displayed in ice, something that seemed beneath the vibe of the place. The salad had a nice lemon vinaigrette, but could have you used something salty like some grated parmesan. And both desserts, again while tasty, seemed like they were made elsewhere and then just finished here. And the wine glasses had significant water spotting. When called out, the second glasses were only marginally better. Yet, the prices were all fine dining level. Really missing just the above and beyond you expect at a place trying to operate at such a high level. I'm sure they'll figure it out.

It was our first time to the Academy Museum and so we wanted to try Fanny’s for convenience. We enjoyed the atmosphere…the art and tables/chairs were really cool. We shared the hamburger and fries…burger was juicy and tasty and fries were crispy and tasty. The Chinese chicken salad was pretty and loved the presentation…lots of chicken and crispy strings on top were a neat surprise and the dressing and lettuce were tasty. Will be back when we visit again. ;)

Dinner and drinks before a screening at the Academy Museum. Always lovely. The new drink menu is vastly improved and quite tasty! Had the cheese platter tonight and it was delish.

I’m here about once a week so I better like it! 😂 To be able to have a solid cocktail and a good meal before an event at the Academy Museum is a real treat! The cocktails, food offerings and service are all top notch. Discount for Museum Members is a nice plus! Thanks for another stellar night with friends.

Good food and interesting ambience. Always dine here prior to a show at the museum. The only negative was when I tried entering the restaurant through the museum entrance, a staff member came running to tell me that I entered through the wrong doors and to go out and re-enter through the correct doors. Perplexing because the restaurant is accessible through the museum also.
