Our magnificent new Mayfair branch brings the wonders of Fait Maison to South Molton Street. Escape the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street to experience the exquisite menu of Executive Chef Om Waleed, including a wide array of influences that spring from her varied and colourful Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern heritage as well as a genuine love of food that not only tastes incredible but is also a total feast for the eyes.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily. We have a variety of dishes of the day, dependant on the season, along with a host of home-made delights, including renowned house favourites – Kebda and Shakshouka – as well as afternoon tea and sensational desserts.

Group of ladies, restaurant was not very busy. Staff was helpful and attentive. Food ordered was great. Ambiance/deco could do with some maintenance.

Arrived in time for my reservation, which was done a week in advance. Had to wait to get the table as all full for four. The manager or incharge looked confused with a facial expression of “why are you here”! Anyways, got the table after sometime, No Menu! Had to ask for the menu. Staff showed very little experience in handling customers. The place lacked someone who is experienced and can lead the team along with providing customer service with a smile.

I thought the South Molton Street branch would be a nice spot for lunch with a good friend who was staying on Bond St. Firstly the restaurant is small. We were squeezed onto a table for two by the wall where the chairs had to be at an angle so as to not knock into people seated behind us. The door was wide open & it started to feel chilly enough for us to put our jackets back on. Someone was smoking in a table outside & we could smell it in the restaurant. My friend did t want rice with the lamb shank & asked if she could have something with potatoes but was told it was “impossible”. The waiter was nonchalant and didn’t suggest other options. We ordered the rice. Later we saw fries on someone’s table & wondered why the rice couldn’t have been replaced by fries. We both ordered lamb shank & a carrot juice each (1 main & one drink each). Food was nice but my friend didn’t eat the rice - the food is over priced. Expect to pay £70+ for a light lunch for two. We were charged over £14 service charge - daylight robbery. The service wasn’t even polite.

My family and I opted for the set Iftar Menu. Our soup came after our mains. Also my order was Lamb Shank with rice but the Lamb was very cold. So had to send back. Thankfully Louis who I assume was the manager sorted our order and was very helpful at the end. I did not pay the service charge which I don’t think was deserved.

Given the hype surrounding the cafe, maybe one of the other locations that are bigger may have been better. We arrived 5 minutes before our booking time but ended up having to wait 30 minutes before a table became available. They were clearly very busy and open to walk ins as well as bookings. I think if you have a lot of bookings on a Saturday around the peak lunch period maybe turn away walk ins? We had to wait while we watched others without bookings get a table. When we did finally get seated we could see people around us that had clearly finished still sat at the table. For such a busy café maybe a time limit should be introduced during busy periods. I had the avocado and salmon bagel which personally had way too much salmon on it and was overpriced for what it was. My meal came out while my 2 guests had to wait for theirs and even have to chase for it. The drinks came out after the food was served and as we had a theatre show to attend they didn't get finished. would have been nice to get the drinks whilst we waited for the food. Overall we were not impressed with the service and food could have been better.

Service is very good.. all the staff are polite and welcoming Food was also Delicious ( Maqlooba, Majboos, beef tikka & chicken tacos )
