Short of staff and service was abnormally slow. Apparently they are now splitting staff with The Port Tavern. Also, the specials were very over-priced for what we got. The regular menu items are much better value. Very disappointed as we have always had great meals and service before.

Perhaps it started at the door The hostess in the black shorts and white top should welcome patrons with a smile rather than a grumpy demeanour. We were seated at a tiny table for 2 across the eggplant wall. It was the main gateway to the patio. Way too much traffic. There were other tables in the main dining that were empty during our dining time. I guess we could have asked to move but didn’t want to be those people especially with the greeting at the door. Our server was friendly and attentive. We shared the mozzarella appetizer and it was good. My daughter had the steak special, it was cooked to her liking . I had the Cacio Pepe pasta. Both dishes were tasty but presentation wasn’t what we were expecting. The hype for this restaurant is a bit overrated.

The service was excellent and the food was delicious. It is not cheap but it is a lovely experience.

Great dinner for our anniversary. Tried a pasta with duck confit special that was fabulous along with a very good Caesar salad and a lovely bottle of an Oregon Pinot Noir. Service was great. I wish the place had better wheelchair access.

Food was fantastic and service was attentive. We reserved outdoors but weather prevented it. As a result our seating was ok but not great. All in all, we were impressed.

Great ambiance. The patio is really great. A few mosquitos in the evening but otherwise lovely.

An overall less than impressive visit. The patio was closed so they sat us at the bar- even tho there seemed to be more then enough space to squeeze us in at a regular table. The bar stools are very uncomfortable. Food took an exceptionally long time and my entree was sent back and had to be remade. The manager did not offer a coffee or dessert or anything to apologize. This restaurant use to be exceptional, and our go to while in Thornbury but not anymore. Overpriced at best. $100 a person no alcohol and food is meh. Not coming back for a while.

Usually very good across the board but this time a little disappointed with the food - we had the pasta special with scallops- the scallops were very small (3 ) and overcooked- I would have thought they could have given 4-5 scallops based on the size or use larger size scallops . I would still recommend when visiting thornbury
