We took our daughter to dinner to celebrate her 30th birthday. This was a beautiful restaurant with first rate seafood. All of our dishes were excellent, however one of the "specials" was not quite up to what we had hoped. It was a mild fish with crab, but the sauce was overpoweringly tangy and the crab's light flavor was lost in sauce. The waitstaff could have explained the "taste" differences in the specials for those who are less-familiar with the sauces offered. For instance, "This fish is a firm mild flavored fish and the sauce is more robust for those with a desire for a spicier dish." OR "This is a mild flaky fish with a gentle sauce allowing the light flavor of the crab to accent the fish's natural flavor." These little statements go along way toward "selling" the special's features. Also, we were not told the "price" of the specials when they were presented to us. It wasn't till we got the bill that we realized that they were more expensive than comparable dishes on the menu. Prices of the specials should be presented when the dish is explained (as is always done at other high-end restaurants I've visited). We shouldn't have to feel cheap and ask for the cost at the time of this presentation. The waitstaff was attentive but not overpowering. It would have been nice, as it was not a busy evening in the restaurant, for the "manager on duty" to stop by and say hello and ask about our dining experience. There should always be an "Orchestra Conductor" overseeing everything from the staff to customers in a high-end restaurant. I have always experienced this in other nice restaurants, especially when it isn't too busy in the restaurant. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend this restaurant to someone looking for a nice meal. I just ask that the problems experienced would be addressed by the waitstaff when offering the specials. The only other suggestion would be to offer some more tasteful music. I wasn't a fan of the rock music with my meal.

Saturday brunch: Everything was prepared perfectly and tasted wonderful. Two of us ordered fried oysters, okra & tomatoes and onion rings - best ever - perfection. Another ordered grilled Gulf shrimp, coleslaw (vinegar-based) and mashed yams w pecans - heavenly. The grilled shrimp were exquisite. The atmosphere was lovely, our meals were delicious and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend!
