Nestled between East Austin neighborhoods, Este celebrates fresh seafood, Mexican cuisine, and charcoal cooking. From the team behind the East 6th favorite, Suerte, Chef Fermin and restaurateur Sam Hellman-Mass are taking their love for masa coastal.

D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : From 2024 James Beard semifinalist and acclaimed Suerte chef Fermín Núñez, this chill seafood spot is all about mariscos—think shrimp aguachiles, tuna tiradito, and oysters splashed with salsa negra. The light and airy space features white rafters and hanging plants, and happy hour spills out onto a big back deck. All of it landed Este on Bon Appétit and Esquire’s best new restaurant lists in 2023.

This has to have been one of the most delicious meals we've had. We came at happy hour and tried out several tacos, guacamole, enchiladas, and margaritas. Everything was outstanding!

Staff was attentive and informative. Food was well prepared but somewhat spicy. Some options were very inventive

Este has been on our list for a while, and my husband and I finally made it in for lunch. We both worked at East Side Cafe back in the day (actually met there!) and we've been curious about the redo. We love that they kept the bones of the place, including the garden, and were impressed by the beautiful interior. Bright, airy, nice, chill vibe. In chatting with our server, we mentioned we used to work at ESC, and they treated us so wonderfully. We tried several small plates, including the Este Ceviche, Tuna Tiradito, Guacamole Del Jardin, Fish Taco, Fried Shrimp Tostada and Taco De Cachetada. Every single dish was unique, thoughtful, bright, and flavorful. The tostada and fish taco were standouts, but all were delicious. We also tried the Clasica and Saladito margaritas and both were outstanding. We are already looking forward to our next meal at Este!

Great service, from check in to seating. Suggested choices were spot on Food was the best HIGH Mexican AND THERE is nothing around to compare to.

Our dinner at Este was truly exceptional, thanks to the attentive service and expertise of our waiter. He carefully guided us on the ideal quantity of food for our group, ensuring we had just the right amount without over or under-ordering. His recommendations were spot-on; each dish was thoughtfully chosen to suit our diverse tastes, and everything we tried was delicious. The experience felt well-curated, making it an unforgettable experience that left everyone at our table raving about the food and service alike.

Fabulous meal with excellent service. Do not skip dessert!!! The semifreddo and the corn cake - both off the charts!
