Situated in Sandsend, one of the most picturesque villages and a true hidden gem of the Yorkshire coast, Estbek house is an award winning and critically acclaimed restaurant with rooms. Estbek - often misspelt as ‘Estbeck’ or ‘Eskbeck’ - is a Georgian property, built circa 1750 and previously housing the Alum mining office. We aim to emphasise this incomparable charm of the historic building, with a tasteful touch of modern luxury throughout.

Very good service , the wines are of good selection to accommodate the excellent menu . Food is fresh and cooked to order . Only down side is we couldn’t book the following night .

Delicious food and outstanding service. Despite ongoing suffering of the hospitality sector in this area of huge staff shortages, this place works hard to deliver outstanding food and service. The crab and scallops were fantastic and the crab curry and steak were amazing. The mini desserts are a triumph. But we couldn’t resist the cheese board first. Great homemade chutney. Food and wine were fantastic and it was lovely to see the waitress from Whitby who has worked there a long time. The new young chap is doing a great job learning the ropes. We will, as always be back when we next visit the area.

A lovely meal out to celebrate my daughters birthday and also the eve of her wedding. As she was vegetarian and also allergic to milk the staff took great care to highlight the dishes she could have and what they could adapt. The staff were all very friendly and the service was brilliant. The food was delicious and we ha a lovely time - highly recommended.

Attentive service paced at a personal rate. Perfectly cooked scallops and hake for starter and main. The mini desserts were fun. A very enjoyable evening for both of us.
