Situated in Sandsend, one of the most picturesque villages and a true hidden gem of the Yorkshire coast, Estbek house is an award winning and critically acclaimed restaurant with rooms. Estbek - often misspelt as ‘Estbeck’ or ‘Eskbeck’ - is a Georgian property, built circa 1750 and previously housing the Alum mining office. We aim to emphasise this incomparable charm of the historic building, with a tasteful touch of modern luxury throughout.

What can you say, the food and service was excellent. I have been to the Estbek for a number of years and have always found it excellent for food and service, the high standards set by the owner never fall. I can recommend the Estbek for quality and service, and can not wait for my next visit Frank

Fantastic as always. Nothing to much trouble as one member was coeliac. Brilliant service, food exceptional. Estbeck never disappoints.

Sunday night so was very quiet, not many diners. Lovely location and attentive service. Halibut was the best piece of fish I've ever eaten.

Had a truly special meal here on Saturday evening, 8th June 2024. Everything was perfect. Would love to revisit on a future occasion.

Estbek House is beautiful with excellent food. Mainly a fish restaurant, using locally caught produce, and the freshness is obvious !

The tasting menu was world class and the service was outstanding. The wine was brilliant and matched perfect to our meal.

I read some of the negative reviews, but booked anyway and am so glad I did. Relatively simple fish, perfectly cooked, with tasty veg and gorgeous desserts. I happily pay those prices for wonderful food and service. Not sure what unfulfilled expectations other reviewers had, but mine were met and exceeded and I will be back for more.

Tried the summer tasting menu for two which was excellent and included sharing plates of three starters, 3 mains and 6 desserts. Great service and ambience as ever and will definitely be going back with friends.
