At essence bistro, we believe what makes food great is the use of fresh produce. Working with the seasons in Ontario, we get to capture the freshness using everything at its peak. The local bounty inspires us to create seasonal dishes and energizes our team to share our flavours with our guests!

Our Chef has over 20 years of experience in the culinary industry in the most prestigious establishments in the world, and knowledge of several cuisines bringing you a world fusion experience.

We are located in the charming Old Market Lane pocket known as the original Downtown Woodbridge, found on Woodbridge Avenue and a short drive from neighbouring communities such as Kleinburg, Nobleton, Bolton, and Caledon.

    Food quality and presentation was excellent. Friendly and professional service. Enjoyed the music. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a different twist for ur taste buds.

    The atmosphere was lovely, quiet and serene. The food was plated exquisitely. My Cesar salad was excellent, with the addition of a few cherry tomatoes and dried cranberries and the home made dressing made it extra special. The Black cod on a bed of lentils was also expertly cooked and plated. They have a good variety of drinks, from pressed juices to alternative coffee and tea. I highly recommend Essence Bistro.

    The food was delicious, creative and beautifully presented. The ingredients were fresh and it was obvious that the chef cares a lot about the quality of the food. Service was excellent and friendly, but not obtrusive. We especially enjoyed the buratta appetizer - truly beautiful and very tasty. Portion sizes were good. Would definitely return!

    We decided to try this restaurant based on other reviews. So glad we did. Everything was fabulous, from the greeting we received walking in, to the friendly and efficient service right through to a very tasty dinner. We had the scallop appetizer, the lamb chops, and the duck breast. We will definitely be going back.

    What an amazing culinary experience at Essence Bistro! We were greeted by their wonderful staff that explained everything and had some great recommendations. Their seasonal menu was not only a piece of art but had a burst of flavour in every bite. Highly recommend and will be sure to come back again!

    Excellent experience from before we arrived! Ryan called day-of to confirm the reservation, and based on the time I had reserved, they gave a heads up regarding kitchen close times and the option to come earlier. It was thoughtful to consider the experience we’d have before we even got there. The ambiance of the place speaks for itself as soon as you walk in, paired together with smiling and social staff, along with fresh farm-to-table food that appeases all senses…. a triple threat ;). Highly recommend this brunch spot!! Thank you for an all-around memorable experience!

    What an incredible restaurant located in the heart of Woodbridge! Essence Bistro checked all the boxes: delicious variety of food, elevated drink menu and scrumptious desserts in a beautiful atmosphere. Beka was incredibly kind and recommended excellent pairings for both the wine and food.
