Inspired by both Cabo San Lucas’ beautiful coast and Mexico City’s vibrant cosmopolitan neighborhoods, Esperanza’s thoughtful design blurs the lines between art and function. Masterfully designed by internationally renowned Islandic architect Gulla Jónsdóttir, Esperanza’s interiors reflect an elevated coastal ambiance that exaggerates the grandeur of a beach town villa.

Chef Ray Alvarez oversees a menu featuring fresh interpretations of Sonoran cuisine while Head Mixologists John Fox and Kevin Williams developed Esperanza’s bar program to not only include delicious and playful cocktails, but the two have also created the largest tequila list and mezcal collection in the South Bay.

Trendy place nice open air with a DJ that was subpar. Food was just OK, cocktails average, service was very good. This was our second visit, we like the atmosphere, and service but when all considered with average food and cocktails with premium prices we won't be back again. Perhaps a good place to meet friends but not a great date place.

Went for my 40th birthday. The staff was amazing as was the ambiance. We had a lovely time. Some of the portions were tiny especially for the pricing (namely the shrimp and pineapple ceviche appetizer.) But overall great experience, would recommend.

Esperanza never disappoints! Enjoyed a lovely lunch yesterday. Cesar salad with blackened salmon was delish!!

I took a lifelong friend here to celebrate her retirement. I put that nugget in the “special occasion “ section of the reservation. The staff was so sweet when they greeted us - “Cindy’s here!” Like they were happy to see us! The good vibes continued as our excellent server, Nick, congratulated her on her milestone, asked about her career, and then commented “I bet you have impacted thousands of lives” (she was a 30+ year high school counselor for MBUSD). The congenial staff brought us a gratis starter (fresh tortillas with dipping sauce- delicious!), as well as a deep fried ice cream with a candle for dessert (also tasty!) The margaritas - one pineapple, one Cadillac — were made with fresh ingredients and the taste was stellar. The food — my seafood enchiladas especially - was well seasoned and delightful. My friend, who lived in Latin America for several years, raved about it all - even the black beans had her impressed! Can’t believe I hadn’t been here yet (the prices scared me away I think). Absolutely worth it, however! Bravo and thank you! Gotta come back with the hubby soon!

Very nice beautiful place, except it was really crowded and loud. It was hard to hear the servers and hard to have a conversation without shouting. I was overwhelmed but the food was really good.
