Inspired by both Cabo San Lucas’ beautiful coast and Mexico City’s vibrant cosmopolitan neighborhoods, Esperanza’s thoughtful design blurs the lines between art and function. Masterfully designed by internationally renowned Islandic architect Gulla Jónsdóttir, Esperanza’s interiors reflect an elevated coastal ambiance that exaggerates the grandeur of a beach town villa.

Chef Ray Alvarez oversees a menu featuring fresh interpretations of Sonoran cuisine while Head Mixologists John Fox and Kevin Williams developed Esperanza’s bar program to not only include delicious and playful cocktails, but the two have also created the largest tequila list and mezcal collection in the South Bay.

Very nice beautiful place, except it was really crowded and loud. It was hard to hear the servers and hard to have a conversation without shouting. I was overwhelmed but the food was really good.

The service here is very slow. It took a while to get out order in. I feel like it wasn’t too busy but that the waiters were not attentive to our table.

I love this place, great drinks and lot of choices for vegetarians and vegans. My only complain is that my vegan enchilada dish was a bit salty and way too spicy... They should add that to the menu, if i had known it was a spicy dish I would have ordered something else.

Three of us ate there, and the food experience was mixed, from great to meh. Margaritas delicious! Noisy.

The atmosphere at Esperanza was nice; however after we got seated my husband had to get up and ask the hostess if she can get our waiter because no one had greeted us or offer us water for at least 30min. When a waiter did arrive he said “it’s ok I guess I will be your waiter” like if we were inconveniencing him. The food was good as well as the margaritas. Service extremely poor. Won’t be returning unfortunately!

Wish music isn’t always so loud. Services can be better, bar is slow. Food is always excellent and consistent!

We did some friends from the United Kingdom here for lunch and it was fabulous. The service was exceptional. The drinks were top notch, and the food was superb. You can’t go wrong at this lovely spot in Manhattan Beach. Was great.Its a gem!!

We joined friends for dinner at Esperanza last night. It is a very lively and loud atmosphere, so don’t attempt to go with low talkers! The specialty margaritas are unique and delicious. The guacamole is great, as is the ceviche. I normally avoid ceviche but this was so flavorful - a nice mix of tropical fruits, fish and lime. Everyone’s joyed their main dishes, too. Service got off to a slow start but it was an extremely packed restaurant. But once we got going, they were pretty quick and attentive. It was a great meal in a pretty and fun space.
