If I had known this was in the lobby of a hotel, I would have never booked it. But since I didn’t know, I had to adjust my expectations, especially since the menu was incredibly limited.
It was loud, there was a cruise tour group over taking the lobby and restaurant which led to high noise levels but that’s not the restaurants fault.
The pictures and ambience are deceiving at best.
Alexander was my server and while the interaction Started positively it’s quickly dwindled to me just wanting to get away.
I will say, the truffle soup was incredible and well worth it! And I appreciate any place that has glasses of primitivo available since it’s typically only available by the bottle.
I ordered a medium-rare filet and it was medium (if I’m being generous and well done on the ends) and it was chewy. I won’t suggest it.
I am sure the soufflé would have been good because the ice cream was good but sadly the chocolate soufflé was burnt. It was inedible and no one seemed to care.
Throughout the night, I was ignored for the most part having to wave down servers and staff multiple times in order to get a drink or any sort of interaction. But what’s worse is that when brought it up to Gabriel, the assistant manager of the restaurant , his excuse what that it was his 3rd day and he didn’t know the flow of the service. As someone who worked in restaurants that is NEVER and excuse, especially since his staff has more than 3 days on the job to know what’s acceptable.
I won’t name the rest of the staff since I didn’t interact with them physically but I caught the it name tags as they obliviously walked by.
I feel like maybe the “new manager” of the restaurant has truly reduced the value. And sadly, i heard the complaints of at least 3 other tables around me so i hope it’s a holiday fluke, otherwise, I cannot suggest going to the restaurant, even if the soup was spectacular!
