Outstanding in every way. The chef and the kitchen 1st class. Waiter tops. Music also very good. Will definitely return soon.

This was our 2nd time dining at Encore with friends. Every aspect of the night was perfect. We had a corner booth and were able to enjoy the live music and still have conversation. Cocktails were fabulous, especially my Italian Empress. Appetizers were delicious- Our favorites were the perfectly tender grilled octopus, oysters 2 ways, and amazing stuffed squash blossoms. We all loved our main courses- delicious authentic lasagna and meatballs, the enormous pork chop with peppers and potatoes, Chilean sea bass over pappardelle and bucatini Amatriciana- all so good. Service was great and we’d definitely go back a 3rd time.

My wife and I decided to try Encore by Goodfellas to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We sat upstairs so that we could enjoy the live music that was offered that evening. We were immediately seated at our table and our waiter came over to serve us. It almost seemed like it was more of a chore for him and he did not want to be there. He made no suggestions for the menu items and did not explain the Summer pre-fexe menu that was being offered. He would stop by our table only ever now and then to check on us. After making our menu choices our food was brought out. The food was just ok at best. We’ve eaten at some of the better Italian restaurants in the area so we had a lot to compare it to. Even with just ok food the waiter could have made our experience a lot better. The best part of the night was probably the live music. Other than that there are better Italian restaurants to eat at in New Haven.

First time my last Read Reviews pretty much that place was exceptional Meal order ..pretty clear sals dressing on side came Deepened in dressing After eating apps that were at best average, 20 Minutes later (so 45 min after order) waited comes out and tell guest they are out no her dish..again 45 min after placing order Had chicken parm.. tastlesss Chicken rolatini was just just not good Tossed it to go and tossed it I am Italian and cook Italian ..this would not rank ..felt like very much a big box Italian chain.

4 course Summer prefix menu is an excellent value. Extensive choices. Great service. Comfortable seating and upscale ambiance.

Highly recommend!! Live dinner music was a plus! Seared tuna was amazing! Veal Milanese was also very good!

Service was horrible. Forgot to bring my salad dressing after I requested it on the side- never came! Forgot to bring our tartuffo desert. Had to request it after 15 minutes. Just slow slow service. Came at 6 left at 8:30!!!

We wanted to love this dining experience however were gravely disappointed. I made a reservation for upper level stage view based on the fact that the website indicated they had entertainment, when we arrived we were seated downstairs and were told the upstairs was closed and there was no entertainment. The website should have been updated to reflect this as we would have made reservations for a different evening. The service was okay, our waiter was relatively attentive. Food was nothing short of disappointing. We started with stuffed mushrooms which were hot on the outside but cold on the inside. The Jumbo Shrimp and Scallops was severely under seasoned, there was no flavor at all. The angel hair pasta was clumped together and overcooked. The menu said it came with Cavatelli, it did not. The scallops were cooked ok the shrimp was raw. The chicken parm was basic chicken parm, chicken was dry as was the spaghetti. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant, we were looking forward to the Goodfellas experience but ended up regretting our dining decision for the evening.
