We visited Emmy Squared-Navy Yard for the first time on July 4. Since it was a holiday, I tried to be forgiving in this review. When we first arrived, the host welcomed us and cleaned off a table for our party of two. We sat and waited. And waited. Servers were nowhere near. It seems as if they were very short-staffed. After 10 minutes, the couple seated at a table next to us got up, told us that they came after us and weren’t going to wait any longer for a server. After they left, we were able to flag down the host, who apologized for the delay and took our order. It was my first experience with Detroit-style pizza. We ordered pizza with sausage and banana peppers. Very good! Pricey, but mostly worth it. The Brussels Sprouts salad was good, but it was disappointing to have it served with peanuts instead of the cashews listed on the menu. Overall, a mixed experience. The combination of good food and lackluster service is still good enough for me to be willing to visit again. Perhaps, I’ll just try carry-out next time.

Has to be the worst pizza and “burger” or i ever had. I would have been better off at a fast food place. Waited over 10 minutes to be seated, then about 20 minutes for someone to walk over and take my order and another 30-35 to get my order. The pizza was raw in the middle, uncooked, unsure if it was the toppings or the cheese but it smelled funky. The craziest part was that the “burger” was ground beef with onions and peppers for $15 with a pickle and ketchup as sides. What the EXPLICIT???? And then expect an 18-22% tip. Service was poor!!!!!! Food was a waste, I threw it out. The economy is terrible and now expect to pay this price for terrible, stinky , oily food. I will never return and if you are reading this review, save your money and go elsewhere. You are better off at Pizza Hut.

It was a wonderful pizza place. It never disappoints. I would highly recommend for casual dinner!

I love Emmy Squared but this trip was kind of disappointing. We love the Old Town location but our MVP pizza here tasted like grease. Not enough vodka sauce (you could barely see it) and it just tasted like the pesto and it was unbalanced. Not like pizzas we had before where you can actually taste flavors instead of fat. The service was OK - the server was very nice but my friend was given honey over maple syrup and it just took forever for one pizza and pancakes to be fired despite being the only people there. The people were very nice though.

Great pizza! Not too loud good spacing between tables so it didn’t seem crowded. Staff was friendly and attentive

The white pie had absolutely no flavor. The MVP was tasty but way over cooked, the crusts were completely black.

We went on a dark and stormy weeknight and there were only a handful of people there. I accidentally marked my OpenTable reservation as "Anniversary" and the staff pulled out all of the stops, bringing us champagne and a comp dessert after our meal We've eaten at Emmy's before and the Za is great. It's Detroit style with crispy crust. We had a Caesar salad and the Hawaiian style (don't @ me) pizza, but all of pizzas we've tried are great. The Caesar is proper (with anchovies) and not swimming in dressing. Bar drinks are tasty. The wine cellar was out of some of the bottles we wanted, but the house pours are decent. You should go.

Service was great. Service was great. I ordered the emotional damage cocktail. It was very sweet. The food was good but a touch overpriced. Overall it was still a nice experience
