Created Tom Hill and Clare Lattin of Ducksoup in Soho and Little Duck in Hackney, Emilia is their version of a small Italian Osteria (transported to the Devonshire countryside) serving seasonal, everyday Italian inspired dishes using locally grown ingredients. Tom oversees the menu and together they cook and share a love for Italian food and natural wine. The dining room is hosted by Lucy Mastroddi and Paul Seckler along with Alice Phillips.

A great local restaurant, using locally sourced ingredients as much as possible. Very tasty food, with a menu that changes regularly to adjust to local products availability. A very good wine list, with some natural wines and out-of-the-beaten-track little gems. Great ambiance and really nice and friendly staff. Do we need to say it’s our favourite restaurant in Devon ?

Just lovely. Gorgeous interiors and as it only has a few tables it doesn’t feel cramped. Service, wine and food all wonderful.

The food at Casa Emilia is wonderful - tasty and top rate, with interesting pairings. Every dish we chose was delicious - the gorgonzola is heavenly! They encourage you to share plates and this works much the best. If you only want one plate near the end of the list, you will be waiting a while! It was very busy and noisy but the staff are attentive and friendly. A brilliant place.

We absolutely loved Emilia and will be coming back soon. Delicious, imaginative and exciting Italian food in the heart of Devon. The food is exactly what you want in an Italian restaurant, No nonsense, rustic, flavourful and full of interesting textures. It is amazing what they are able to achieve in such a small kitchen in what was formerly the Lloyds Bank. The staff were also so attentive and accomodating. 100% would recommend and can't wait to go back!

Emilia is a culinary jewel in the crown of Ashburton. The welcome always warm, the atmosphere a cocktail of quiet hubbub from the chef and team , joyous chatter of customers enjoying their experience, the bustle of super friendly and knowledgeable front of house team and of course the wonderful aroma’s spilling out from the open kitchen. The food and drink choice is plentiful and delicious and we always leave immediately planning our return. In summary, a first rate, relaxed dining experience, that we selfishly don’t want to become too popular.
