Since 2011, EMei has emerged as one of Philadelphia's premier dining destinations, celebrated for its authentic Chinese cuisine curated by Master Chef Zhao and a team of 6 wok chefs that born and trained in the Sichuan region of China.
Boasting over 50 years of expertise in mastering Sichuan cuisine, Chef Zhao skillfully infuses dishes with bold chili oils, aromatic peppercorns, and expertly seasoned cuts of fish, meat, and produce.
Situated conveniently in Chinatown, EMei diligently procures fresh ingredients daily. With a menu featuring 120 items, including house-made egg rolls and dumplings, we take pride in crafting everything in-house. This commitment not only ensures quality but also enables us to offer a wide selection of gluten-free and vegetarian options.

The food was delicious. We were not told that the kitchen was free flowing or we would have ordered our main entree after we were almost done our small plates. All three arrived within minutes of one another. Also, we were never offered clean dishes as all orders were shared, so all sauces blended together on the one small plate each of us were given. The cocktails were very good. The restaurant was very noisy. Perhaps a few more servers would have made for a better experience.

4 stars for ambience because it was loud, otherwise a delightful experience! Portions are huge; come with a big appetite and be prepared to share. Cucumbers and garlic were awesome as was the Sweet & Sour Crispy Fish.

The food here is so good, and they had so many options that were GF too! It was really loud and the tables were a bit small but overall a wonderful experience. I’m still thinking of all the food I ate!

Tea smoked duck was delicious but the salt and pepper squid was cold. When it returned after being reheated I felt it had been microwaved as it was chewy and no longer crisp. Also had very little seasoning. We barely ate it but still paid for it. Lots of gluten free options. I would try again but perhaps order different items.

It was delicious. All of our dishes had flavorful levels of spice but the heat was always balanced well. Wish i had more room in my stomach that night. Guess I'll have head back and work my way thru the menu.
