Since 2011, EMei has emerged as one of Philadelphia's premier dining destinations, celebrated for its authentic Chinese cuisine curated by Master Chef Zhao and a team of 6 wok chefs that born and trained in the Sichuan region of China.
Boasting over 50 years of expertise in mastering Sichuan cuisine, Chef Zhao skillfully infuses dishes with bold chili oils, aromatic peppercorns, and expertly seasoned cuts of fish, meat, and produce.
Situated conveniently in Chinatown, EMei diligently procures fresh ingredients daily. With a menu featuring 120 items, including house-made egg rolls and dumplings, we take pride in crafting everything in-house. This commitment not only ensures quality but also enables us to offer a wide selection of gluten-free and vegetarian options.

My favorite restaurant -- great food and usually a good experience. Unfortunately tonight was a terrible service experience. No one took our order until the waiter asked if we ordered already (we still had a menu) and then the waiter told us they were sorry and someone else is supposed to have our table. No one else handled our table -- no tea, no water refill, etc. Eventually we finished and sat around and ultimately I asked the same person who took our order for boxes and the bill.

Wonderful food, wonderful staffing. A bit noisy, at times, hard to hold a conversation. I've been there before several times, I'll definitely return. So many thing to try on the menu...

We were seated earlier than our reservation time and the staff was prompt in taking our orders. However, everyone’s food came out at very different times, and it was fairly bland.

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and even on a busy Saturday night, they got the food out really fast. Great service. Loved the Dan Dan noodles with pork

Food was fine. Place was packed at 6:45pm on a Friday. Glad we had a reservation. Service was very good.

Fantastic taste and quality food. Beware of their large quantity that they provide for each menu item. We ended packing every item we ordered.

Better than average Szechuan food but salty. The restaurant is pretty but it's very loud.

Our waiter was friendly and helpful in pointing out foods we might like after we told him how much spice we liked (two of us liked alot, one wanted a little less). We ordered the mapo tofu, a cumin lamb dish, and kung pao chicken. It was all excellent - the lamb dish, which we hadn't had before but was recommended by the waiter was amazing. Would definitely return.
