Ember Yard is the fourth restaurant from Salt Yard Group and has been influenced by our travels around Spain and Italy and their methods of cooking over charcoal and wood.

We commissioned and custom built a bespoke, Basque-style grill and sourced some amazing single species sustainable charcoal and wood from Kent to cook with. We use only the finest seasonal produce, and introduce – as has become our style – our spin on flavours of Spain and Italy.

Ember Yard is located in the heart of Soho and is a lovely two storey restaurant and bar, with an open plan kitchen on the ground floor and a cool and cosy bar on the lower ground floor. The same delicious menu is available throughout and we encourage you to come along before you dine to sample one of our specially created Ember-themed cocktails.

This was a lovely and delicious experience, the meal and general ambience made the night. The service was second to none. Will definitely return.

Really lovely Sunday lunch. The only downside was the roast potatoes which could be better!

Good food, great waiter but terrible management. Poor waiter had no hope. They ran out of puddings and potatoes!!! No apology offered by the female manager - just said like it was not a problem? What kind of Spanish tapas bar runs out of potatos bravas on Friday night? Then no pudding because no hot water to make it - then no tea or coffee either! Not great at all and not acceptable by the female manager to be so nonchalant about a table of 7 that spent £600. These guys who think they can charge this amount of money and not bring service to the meal need to realise people won’t go back . I won’t go back to Ember Yards. Too many other options in London.

Lovely food and wine as usual. The restaurant was a little quieter than usual which had an effect on the ambience but still one of our favourite places to eat.

If you’re coeliac or need to avoid gluten stay away. I got trapped by some Google reviews saying they are amazing for GF but it’s really not the case. Could eat 5% of the menu.

We were a group of three there on a Friday night and it was fairly busy but in line with what you’d expect for a Friday night. We waited ages for our drink order to be taken, then we decided to order the tasting menu which was £45 pp. it took ages for the first course to arrive and we were shocked when they presented a dish of 4 tiger prawns to share between each of us. We also got a croquette dish that was one single croquette which is a shocking portion for the price and which arrived chewy and cold. Another tasting dish (salmon ceviche) arrived and this time we actually got two portions? By this point we’d been there over two hours and not even had half of the dishes from the tasting menu so we asked them to cancel the orders. The whole experience was a bit confusing - no idea what amount of food we would have received for the tasting menu but seems like a bit of a scam. You’re probably better off just ordering individual tapas. To our waitress’s credit, they only made us pay the price of one of the tasting menu (rather than x3) and we cut our losses and left. Clearly some issues with service or in the kitchen. Most likely will not be going back - the few dishes we did get were nothing special and everything was a bit overpriced.
