Born from a passion for authentic, honest cuisine, Embankment Kitchen embarked on a journey to really feed people. Rooted in the warm spirit of Northern hospitality, this is a neighbourhood kitchen where you can eat, drink, unwind, and truly feel at home. We believe in the power of good, solid, recognisable dishes and fresh, seasonal ingredients. Each dish is crafted with precision and a touch of refined elegance and always prepared from scratch, in-house. If it isn’t already obvious, we love what do, and we work hard to curate a menu of classics that have the power to make you want to order everything. Our laid-back space invited diners to share moments and create memories over plates of food designed to hit the spot, and celebrate the extraordinary found in the ordinary, one plate at a time.

Looking for somewhere to dine before a concert or show? Our pre-show menu features the highlights of our à la carte menu which can be prepared quicker than our average dish. Our chefs source the best quality ingredients from around the North West and make everything from scratch, in-house, always. Rooted in the warm spirit of Northern hospitality, our location is just around the corner from the doors of the AO Arena, and a short walk down Deansgate from Manchester's theatres. *Please note, booking time is at the diners’ own discretion and responsibility.

When I made the booking I had indicated that this is a special occasion, my husbands 40th. There was no effort made from the waiters in terms of welcoming us and wishing my husband a happy birthday. I intentionally ordered dessert and hoping a happy birthday note or a sparkle would have been added to his order - NOTHING. The restaurant was empty but waiters stood at the end of the restaurant and we were hidden in a cubicle seating close to the hotel entrance and had to signal for assistance most of the night for menu's, more drinks, salt and pepper etc. We felt very neglected. We also asked the waitress what she would recommend and she replied the shank, we asked further details on the how it is prepared, served etc and claimed she is new and doesn't know much of the menu. There was dust pile up in the corners of the cubicle and surely cleanines should be a top priority no?

Booked a Father’s Day sharing board for me and my daughter at 2PM only to be told when we got there that the deal doesn’t start until 5PM. But why did they let me book that deal for 2PM then?? Very disappointing and the waitress who served us didn’t really care about their mistake.

Booked at table for 6pm. Had to wait a good 5mins to be greeted at the door. Was told that there was no guarantee they would get our party of four out on time unless we had the pre show menu. We were happy with that was we did have a show booked. Our server, Ella was outstanding. She was so attentive and extremely helpful due to some allergies that our party had. We sadly had to wait over 1hr 15mins for our food to arrive. We were lied to by the head waiter that it would be a maximum of another 6mins. Another 15mins later our food arrived which meant we had only 10mins to eat the food before we had to leave for the show at the AO arena. To be fair to the staff they did apologise especially Ella who was clearly embarrassed and empathetic towards the situation. Her customer service skills were outstanding and should be recognised. We were given 50% off the food bill and a free round of drinks. The food was lovely just saddened that none of us could finish due to the lack of time. Would I recommend the Embankment again- yes but please allow extra time if you have a show booked. From walking into the restaurant at 6pm we walked out at 7.55pm.

the quality of food was superb. the duck dish was especially delightful... recommended to do pink instead of well done. The pulled pork pasta was equally amazing. Really enjoyed the dinner

We had Joyce looking after us and she was absolutely amazing! Super attentive throughout and very friendly. The food was good and the ambience was great.

The service staff were really lovely, especially Ella who was polite and super professional. The food was good overall though it was slightly bizarre when the kitchen advised they did not have any poached eggs and offered fried eggs as an alternative which we obliged to. The only critique I would have was the length of time we had to wait between sitting down and food arriving at our table which was over an hour and that was unexpected as we were the only group eating in the restaurant. I liked the ambience and will come back for another meal, hopefully the wait for meals will not be as long.

Great food which was hot on arrival, fresh and good portion sizes. Lovely presentation not just plonked on the plate. The starters specially were delicious! The staff were friendly and welcoming but not overpowering and nice touch to have the happy hr on cocktails too.
