What a wonderful restaurant! We recently moved to RI and Ella's was recommended to us by a guy we'd never seen before walking by our previous home with a for sale sign up! So random! But we're so glad we listened to him. We enjoyed the (Humbolt) Fog appetizer, Momma's Chicken and Fig & The Pig for our main courses and ended with a scoop of vanilla gelato topped with a shot of espresso. Every bite was a true delight - and their choice of Sancerre by the glass was fantastic! We're guessing everything on the menu would have been just as great and we're looking forward to finding out.

We created our own meal from the “sides” menu: grilled chicken (moist and delicious), string beans (perfectly cooked with bits of cooked parmesan), and coconut black rice (best rice dish I’ve ever experienced). The bread was amazing too. The best meal I’ve had in a long time!

We went on our 20th wedding anniversary. Never been there before. Drove 50 miles. Fabulous. Food was out of this world. Service great. For certain to visit again.

Food was excellent. One complaint: When I ordered the 6oz filet mignon entree, I stated to our waitress that I did not want the bearnaise sauce on the steak and please have it put on the side instead. Unfortunately my meal came with the sauce all over everything.

Ella's is a very special restaurant in a not-so-great neighborhood. (Not unsafe-just rundown). When you enter, you are struck with the very refined and sophisticated setting. And the food keeps pace. Food, drinks, and service all were very good.

We had a wonderful meal from start to finish. The cocktails menu was so much fun, the appetizers were delicious, and the entrees were outstanding! And then… dessert. Wow!

Our dinner at Ella’s was delightful. Cocktails and entrees were excellent and the service impeccable and cordial. A wonderful dining experience in a sophisticated venue.

This was a pretty disappointing visit, actually the second time in a row. Ellas has always been our destination for special occasions, and in the past they always hit the bullseye. This time, we were there for my sister's birthday, and it was a disappointment. The timing of the service was completely off. We immediately ordered bread (which you have to pay extra for - always a bit of an irritation here, given their prices, but worth it because the bread is fantastic). We then ordered our appetizers. We then had an extremely long wait until we got anything, and then the bread AND the appetizers came at the same time. Fortunately, the appetizers we ordered were outstanding - the calamari, always excellent, and the special octopus. Then, an extremely and inappropriate wait ensued before our food came, to the point that we finally had to complain. This is the exact same thing that happened the last time we went to Ellas. The waiter made some lame explanation about not putting in our entrees until we got our appetizers, when any decent restaurant would time everything appropriately from the start. The waiter was not sympathetic or apologetic at all. Then came the entrees, which were extremely disappointing. We both ordered items we'd had before - the Udon duck and the vegan entree. The vegan entree did not at all conform to the description on the menu, having different ingredients, and was quite tasteless. The Udon, one of my favorite dishes anywhere, was way off the mark, having very little flavor, unlike our previous experience with this dish. My wife decided to just return the vegan dish and we would share the duck. The Maitre'D came over and was again not very apologetic or sympathetic, and we both felt that, if anything, he demonstrated a surly attitude that we did not want to order anything else to replace it; something we were loath to do, especially given the time it took to get all of our other food. Overall, a very disappointing experience!
