I recently visited Elevations Chophouse, and I can’t say enough about how perfect the experience was! The steaks were cooked to perfection, full of flavor, and so tender. The ambiance was warm and elegant, which made the evening feel special. Big thanks to the staff for their outstanding service – they made us feel like VIPs!

Lovely large colonial style home refurbished as an inn and restaurant. Beautifully decorated and landscaped. Virtually empty of diners as we were only one of two tables occupied. Unfortunately the interior dining area, similar to the exterior porch dining, lacks intimacy with row upon row of wood tables. Somewhat lacking in creativity from a design perspective. The addition of a few intimate booths or banquettes would help and allow for intimacy for date nights. The exterior porch overlooks the cottages and pool. Quite near AVL with planes flying noisily overhead on their landing path. My husband ordered the rib eye medium rare. A thin steak overcooked on the grill Pittsburgh style. The crab soup was superb but the served on-the-side sherry was definitely not sherry, but a highly salty non-alcohol drizzle of nothing. I expected real sherry. A decided miss for such an upscale chophouse. My “seared” duck breast was also completely overcooked and over seasoned, served over gooey risotto. The service was very good, but the dining experience was not.

The food was absolutely delicious, excellent. Drinks were very well priced, good sized. The server was very kind and on top of things, not overbearing. I understand a rustic vibe, but the ambience could be upgraded. Table was very close to the next where it feels like you're in the next table's conversation. There were some stares from patrons, if you are black or different than their usual audience, but some were friendly enough to smile or speak if staring. Overall a nice experience, will remember the chef's amuse-bouche.

Overall a good restaurant but there was some missteps. First, our servers and the hostess were wonderful. They were very attentive and knowledgeable. The issues revolve around the food and the timing of the courses. The main meal came out about 4 minutes after the appetizer, which seemed to take a very long time to prepare. There was less than 5 tables in the restaurant so the kitchen was not overwhelmed. We felt the server should have realized the timing issue and delayed our main course, which became cold. When we expressed our concerns no one really addressed them. The second issue was the food. The appetizer was good but both of our main courses lack any flair or elevation in taste. Both dishes were just there-nothing stood out as unique or exciting. The tastes were boring.

Menu was limited and catch of the day was sold out on Saturday of a long weekend the steak was pathetic and they attempted to serve the main course while we were eating our appetizers. I’ve had better food at Applebees!

The food was really good, the server Joey was amazing. The decor was okay. The only real issue was the stuffiness of the room. It was almost hot and no air movement, making it a little uncomfortable.

Excellent service and food. The view is spectacular. The only negative is the constant noise from AVL flights.
