The West of Irelands first Elephant and Castle is finally here! Located less than a minute walk from Galway’s City Centre, Eyre Square, you can find the restaurant on the ground floor of the newly built Dean.
A beautiful large island bar is the centrepiece of this space, with specially commissioned hand-crafted stitched leather panels. It is a local gathering place for family and friends.

As a regular customer to the elephant and castle yesterdays was a little disappointing .We are massive fans of the sensational chicken wings and fries. We ordered 3 portions of fries , each of them inedible , so hard (didn't look burned)just really really hard. I didn't want to complain but it must have been obvious when all 3 portions were retuned uneaten but charged €17.95!!!! Wings were really nice a little over cooked but still fab.When we got the bill an additional 14.95 was added for drinks we didn't have and an additional coke..Just wasn't as pleasant an experience for a special birthday as we 've had in the past .Never the less it is still a great restaurant and we all can have off days!

Arrived at 8pm. Asked for orders at 8.25 only to be told there were zero chicken wings available.

Food was okish. However as we were waiting 1 hour for our food we would not go back due to the service. Waiters were polite and friendly but 1 hour wait for food is crazy.

Many items on the menu weren't available. Instead of taking them off the menu the server had to recite a long list of what was not available. This was not a once off as they are changing the menu. Service was only OK. Left alone for long periods without checking if we wanted anything else, the food was quite expensive for what it was. Beautiful place but huge room for improvement

Very disappointed. We booked this for a special family occasion. Waited 50 minutes for food to arrive from when we placed our order. We had to look for staff each time to order drinks and to enquire about the delay. When the food arrived it was luke warm. As we were running late at this stage to go to the Galway Arts Festival we just ate it. It was very average. All the other tables around us seemed equally frustrated from what we could see. The staff were very pleasant when we complained and said the kitchen was having "a bad night". We were offered at 25% reduction on our bill. Safe to say we won't be returning which is a pity as it's a lovely bar/restaurant. The staff seem to need more training and the kitchen issue needs addressing.

Service was pleasant but main courses were very slow. No compensation was offered. Apologies were profuse however.
