Ela Mezze + Spirits is a culinary journey through the diverse tapestry of the Mediterranean, with a welcoming twist that beckons you to explore further. Situated in the vibrant neighborhood of VaHi, Ela takes patrons on a Grand Tour of flavors including charcoal-grilled meats, fresh seafood, spices, regional wines and curated cocktails influenced by travels from Morocco to Greece, Israel, Turkey and back. A testament to the region’s history of trade and cultural exchange, Ela’s offerings result in a sensory mosaic as vast and intricate as the sea itself and the lands surrounding it. A most enjoyable restaurant. We went early, had a corner quieter spot upon request, and even when more people appeared the noise level was fie=ne. Wait staff, with beautiful torquoise hair, was most attentive and respectful. All the food was very fine and well presented, and at the end of the meal the manager visited us to gree4t us. Prices were most fair and the parking is free. I intended to bring my daughter here for a meal as soon as possible. Win Jolly

Loved this resto! Cool new medi concept ✨ Discovering Ela in Virginia Highlands has been a treat! This fabulous Mediterranean spot serves up some of the most delicious mezes, small plates, and kebabs you can imagine. From vibrant flavors to beautifully presented dishes, it’s a true taste journey. Food was terrible. Appetizer lamb meat balls and fried “hot chicken” had no flavor. Skewer we’re just as bad. Lamb skewer was over cooked and pork skewer was minced pork rolled into a log. Not good for the price.

Great service, great food and nice atmosphere. Sat on the patio and it was quieter than inside.

The environment and vibe are wonderful. The Chickpea and sumac hummus is delicious! The lamb keftedes and skewer were sadly underwhelming and a bit sour. Fries and Greek donuts were good. It's worth a visit, but wasn't quite what we were expecting.

Ela is our go-to spot for date nights. The attentive staff and skilled manager create a welcoming atmosphere. Creative cocktails complement the delicious, well-prepared dishes. It is a perfect place to enjoy quality time with my wife over great food and drinks.

A LIVELY AND ENERGETIC EXPERIENCE Walking into Ela one immediately feels the cool vibe and lively environment that has become the hallmark of this restaurant. This is mot my first visit but I went out of my comfort zone and ordered the main dish on a wrap than its more typical skewer serving. From the "Ela" logo on the paper sleeve to the overflowing portion seeping out of the wrap, this turned out to be a wise choose and a departure from the norm. I have always found the servers to well versed in the menu, and this is helpful because the menu, while approachable, does need some advice and clarification to the novice diner. If you don't order the yogurt desert, then you are missing out on something special.

Truly love the menu and the food here. On the advice of our waiter, we went with the grilled eggplant for a starter—outstanding! Also had hummus to start and went with the lamb kabobs over salad—lamb was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Great for date night, we could talk but the energy level was good!

Mezze board was great, as were the lamb and pork kebabs. The pork kebab is pretty spicy, and we ordered an extra portion of labneh. The pita bread is also very warm and delicious.
