Went for dinner last night for Valentine’s Day with very high hopes of eating authentic Mexican food. I had reservations and special requests. To say the least, it will be my last time here. Very disappointed with the service at the front and unprofessionalism. They don’t take reservations here seriously. The food was the problem. I got a combo plate with chicken flautas and enchiladas. The flautas were soggy and awful. The enchilada tasted like ketchup very generic. The quality is worse than pollo loco if I’m being honest. They focus on big portions but not on taste. My food was served cold and tasted generic. I did not finish my plate from how cold it was. My partners plate too. The plates were full in the end because no one liked the food. Time to find a New Mexican spot.

Everything on the buffet was very, very salty and all tasted the same. They raised the price to $33.50 and I really don’t know why. They took away or changed an item that had shrimp on the salad bar and now it’s basically cucumber, and there’s nothing amazing for that price. The noise level is very high. Hard to talk, but maybe they were short of staff because I had to get my own coffee, the waiter just wasn’t “available” unless I flagged him down for coffee, Champaign, napkins. Good grief. I must not be the only one with that feeling as it wasn’t as busy as it has been with people waiting outside for a table. Could be new management…?

Went for New Years day dinner. Seated right away. Great service. Very good food. Had a very generous salmon dinner. Huge portions with rice and vegetables. Flavorful gaucamole prepared at our table.

The ad for the Christmas buffet was unclear, providing 2 time slots 9-2 for brunch, and 2-8 pm. Our reservation was for 3:15. Apparently, it was a brunch buffet for 39.99/person... Which is pretty pricey for a brunch. We left after being seated. We headed to a seafood buffet instead which was $10 less than this price tag

I love that they were open on Christmas Day because we were starving and everything was closed after all it’s Christmas! Super awesome staff and our server Kelvin was very informative about new items on the menu and specials on the brunch buffet. All in all a great experience. :)

This year, I made the deliberate choice to spend Christmas Day at El Torito, a decision that proved to be exceptionally rewarding. The ambiance of the establishment is nothing short of remarkable, creating an inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. The service, in particular, was exemplary; our waitress, Maria, exhibited an extraordinary level of professionalism and attentiveness that left a lasting impression. Her ability to anticipate our needs and provide recommendations was commendable, and it is worth noting that her efforts contributed significantly to our overall satisfaction. Food is ok. Not out of this world amazing but better than fast food. It’s just the noise level. Horrid. You need to scream to be heard across the table and that only compounds with everyone screaming. They MUST do something about their acoustics. The fact that you can’t enjoy anyone’s company that you are dining with is a turn off. Go alone - or don’t go… unless you just want to scarf down your meal and leave. I think because of the price point, there are a lot of parties there… so imagine tables of 10 or 20 yelling at the top of their lungs, laughing loudly and you just trying to enjoy a meal and share company and conversation. Forget it! Not possible. Fix your acoustics El Torito!

This restaurant always delivers. The food is fresh, and the service good. It is not the best Mexican food in town, but it is consistent, with a lovely atmosphere.

They tried to improve the experience by making everything self serve. The number of items for a Mexican food buffet is limited, but there’s plenty of protein with the different style meats sauces. They have pancakes too but you need to ask and there champagne and oj. The price for brunch is now $33.50. You may need valet parking $8.00 if the lot is full.
