Inspired by the cuisines of Puebla and Veracruz, El Rey captures the essence of Mexican home cooking. Boisterous and broken-in like a laidback roadside cantina, the dining room hums from midday to late-night. Folk art, kitchsy found objects and vintage movie posters adorn the walls, providing plenty of visual stimuli for eaters digging into authentic tacos, tortas, enchiladas, sopes and more.     Excellent service… their recommendations were spot-on, they were attentive without hovering, and service was speedy but we weren’t rushed out of the restaurant. The food was outstanding! Portions were perfectly sized and the food tasted amazing! Would highly recommend El Rey!

    Even though the restaurant was wide open they put us at the worst table near the trash and bathroom and kitchen. It was hard to eat while watching the door open non stop.

    We loved our happy hour food and drink. Margarita and a virgin margarita were both really good. Food and Service top-notch we will be back.

    I liked El Rey. We arrived for an early lunch and were probably the first table that day. Service was prompt and friendly. The food was very good. The guac was excellent. The music was a puzzling mix of Mexican (that music you'd expect in a Mexican restaurant) and punk rock ... I'm a punk fan, so I thought that was great. I'd go back, for sure.
