El Novillo Restaurant is a family owned and operated Latin American (Nicaraguan) Steakhouse, that has been operating its multiple locations in South Florida since the 1980s. We specialize in serving, Churrascos, cut from lean tenderloins that are grilled and marinated in our homemade fresh
Chimichurri sauce.
We also serve 100% all-natural chicken breast, shrimp, fish, pork, and various other selections. Appetizers include fried cheese, refried beans, small meat tacos with sour cream, and more.
Finish your meal with our traditional Tres Leches& sponge cake, Carmel Flan, or Pio-Quinto rum sponge cake.
El Novillo keeps the Latin spirit going with its live music in the evenings during all weekends and special pricing for large group events, which include beverage, main course, and dessert, starting at and affordable $27.99 a per person. Great food!! So delicious! Love Nicaraguan food! Churrasco steaks are so delicious with chimichurri and without it. Nice quiet ambiance and family atmosphere.

The visit to El Novillo on Bird Road was worth the trip. They open at 12:00 noon and I was there soon after. There were already people in the dining room, which is a testament to their popularity. I ordered the fried cheese appetizer and the executive lunch churrasco. The lunch came with their gillopinto (Nicaraguan rice and beans), fried sweet plantains, and fried green plantain strips…delicious. The fried cheese squares were placed atop a flat bread made from a masa(corn and flour mix) and were finished with a Nicaraguan cabbage salad. You get four pieces, and together with the meal, it’s a sizable lunch. The temperature on the steak was slightly over, probably due to the thinness of the cut, but still tasted good. The employees were smiling and welcoming. My waiter and waitress were Wilbert and Anairys. They were attentive, friendly, and made my lunch experience a very good one. Unfortunately I did not leave room for dessert this time, but will look forward to returning to continue the enjoyment of the food and waitstaff. My previous visit was not exemplary, this time it was excellent! By the time I left, customer’s were waiting outside on the benches. On a side note, the closer to the fountain in the middle of the room, the more ambient noise you will have; however it is designed in the style of a courtyard dining area and is very pretty. I sat in a booth, on the outskirts of the room for a more intimate dining experience.

The food quality has really gone down. This used to be our go to spot for a good steak. This night the steaks were over done and grey with barely any char. They also tasted very low quality. The appetizer sampler was nothing special and the sangria and mojito was extremely sweet and not enjoyable to drink. Service was medicore, we were never asked about our food and the waiters barely spoke to us when serving. This will probably be the last time going here.

A Miami staple for decades, had not been in a while and when lunch with a friend in the area of Bird Road was scheduled, El Novillo was the choice. Excellent food and attractively priced, properly prepared Churassco served with generous portions of plaintain chips, pico rice and salad for $22 bucks, great deal! A glass of mediocre wine bit pricey at $8.50, perhaps next time will review wine bottle selection. Greeted warmly, nice staff. A worthy visit, will be returning very soon, Enjoy!
