We were planning on ordering a bunch of tapas to share because it was our first time there, waitress comes by wow night and day from the hostess she was condescending and rude we were simply asking for recommendations because again it is our first time at that restaurant only to be told well if you expect to pay for something cheap you’ll get something cheap wow ok that was uncalled for we were stunned by the answer we brushed it off than she continued with I would get the most expensive meal unless you wanna pay less and walked away! Than we wanted to order a bottle of wine none of the ones we wanted were available we asked for one finally and it was ok great she came back and asked your fine tasting right !yes why not but why the rudeness than just poured than left the bottle there with no decanter which I’m used to for a red but that’s fine maybe they’re not accustomed to that, next we asked for a few tapas and appetizers she took the order and came back to tell us that basically nothing was available because they ran out ok shouldn’t we’ve been told that when we got sat and told what is available? On a Friday night to run out of everything pretty much is confusing at a restaurant? We finally ordered calamari that was available and two main dishes their most expensive steak plate ordered medium and the paella. Got the steak and it was well done! Got our calamari which were scraps from the bottom of a bag and burnt, got the paella which should be called a bowl of rice with 1 shrimp one clam and one mussel on top that’s not even exaggerating that was what was served, we told her about the food quality and she said that the sauce hides the meat doneness and everyone has different taste, what I’ve never heard this before the meat was black brown no red anywhere the so called sauce that would hide the meat doneness was a green sauce drizzle on the top. Paella is just a rice bowl and calamari you’re lucky if you get any actual calamari and don’t expect great hospitalit

The shrimp was over cooked, small and rubbery. I ordered the steak and it was grey and flaccid. We ordered churros for dessert and they were so undercooked they were like a cheese stick, doughy and raw in the centre. Everything was phenomenally under impressive especially for the price. When we presented our concerns to the waitress we were told consistently “that’s what our food is like”, “that’s what churros look like”. I have been here previously and had a completely different experience and that experience is the reason I decided to come back. I would be very hesitant to try this again.

We enjoyed our time at El Corazon. The atmosphere was lively, the food was great as was the service. I will go back.

Our table of four shared two of the recommended provoleta - the highlight for us! The shared calamari was ok. Our paella was just ok; we've had better. One of our dinner companions had the full basa filet - impressive. Very nice atmosphere and friendly server!
