Ordered extra sides of potato and asparagus and waitress never mentioned that we get vegetable and potatoes already on entree. And potatoes and veggie not listed on the menu in entree. So very misleading and we felt waitress could have pointed that out to us when we started ordering additional. Haven’t been to El Chorro for couple of years and surprised at how much the prices have increased. ALSO should add that our guest wanted a brandy alexander for an after dinner drink. They came back and said they couldn’t make one because the bar didn’t have a blender. Really, a bar without a blender! And if that was the case couldn’t the kitchen have done one with their blender? Or don’t they have one either. Just disappointing when you’re hosting someone!

                                                        My dinner (pan roasted halibut) was off. I should have sent it back. My husband enjoyed his stroganoff. We both enjoyed the heirloom tomato and stone fruit salad although more heirloom tomatoes would have been appreciated. Service was very good and the ambiance on evening mild enough to dine outside was typically magical. It was our anniversary, and this was noted in our reservation. They did send a complimentary dessert to the table, but it was cold, hard, and dry as if it had been made ahead and sat refrigerated for a long time. While a thoughtful gesture, we felt this effort could have been executed better. Maybe if it had been allowed to come to room temperature before serving it would have been more palatable. Otherwise, they should allow us to choose something complimentary from the menu. We have recommended El Chorro to our out of town guests and will continue to do so, but last night was a touch disappointing.

                                                        We’ve been enjoying El Chorro for thirty years and have had many happy family and friend celebrations here. Always delicious and dependable, with wonderful service and atmosphere. We were shocked at the price increase on their new, slimmed down menu. Food and drink prices have soared. The added lights have taken away the beautiful view of Camelback Mountain from their patio. We’ve taken them off our list of favorite valley eateries and won’t return.

                                                        The menu was completely changed with very few healthy options. Value for the food wasn't quite adequate. Used to have the cauliflower steak entrée, tuna salad...etc. The service was great!! If I knew these changes were made, it would've changed the outcome of our venue choice.

                                                        The prices went up but the food was not what we were used to. Fried lobster instead of a lobster tail. The medium rare steak was more medium well. Not sure it is going to stay our go to restaurant when guests come in town. So sad 😞
