An upmarket neighbourhood bistro serving locally focused dishes. We are a bustling one-room restaurant with a comfy bar. Seasonal menus include P.E.I. Blue Dot rib eye steaks, local seafood, and seasonal veg.

Open for lunch service Tuesday-Friday 1130-230
Open for Supper service Tuesday-Sunday 5-10pm
Open for Brunch service Sunday 10-2 pm

We keep bar seating open for walk-ins each night so feel free to pop in.

Reservations recommended, walk-ins welcome but not guaranteed.

***Please note when picking a reservation time that our licence requires minors (even sweet tiny little babies) to be out of the restaurant by 10pm, sorry for the inconvenience.

We had an amazing dining experience. Edna was recommended to us by a local and it did not disappoint. Heather was an angel in finding a table for us when we showed much earlier than our reservation. Although my husbands ribeye was delicious, the star of the table was the arctic char. A perfect harmony of acid, crunch, and sweet. Soooooo good. Thank you to all the staff for an amazing night!

Unfortunately, the noise reduced the atmosphere to that of the tavern, making conversation difficult. It spoiled an otherwise pleasant meal.

Went for brunch eggs Benedict was delicious. Good coffee. Lovely quiet atmosphere and fabulous service.

We always consider Edna to be the best restaurant in Halifax. You will not find a better steak anywhere, and everything else is always equally, consistently fantastic. Nice to see that the amazing brunch has come back as well! As always, we can't wait to go back.

Service was pleasant and efficient. Loved the appies and the mains were oh my god so good… Really enjoyed the cocktails and the desserts as well.

Amazing food! Creative dishes, beautifully prepared. The Yellowfin tuna and potato cheese soup with almond pistou were absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be back!

Excellent cocktails to begin, varied and intriguing list. Strawberries and Seared Yellowfin (Do Not Miss) got our tastebuds hopping. The Gnocchi was packed with summer flavours, and the Seared Scallops, just Wow! We bonded terrifically with our server who hit it out of the park with several recommendations…including a cocktail selection that paired wonderfully with the Gnocchi. Service and pacing was on point. The place was buzzing on a Sunday night, overall a fantastic experience! Highly recommended.

Edna continues to be one of my favourite spots in Halifax. This experience was just ok, but this isn’t my usual experience. I’d say it was just an off day.

Went there after reading good recommendations. This is a restaurant with limited space, we knew that in advance. High expectations for the food. We are foodies, some very open to new experiences, tastes, etc. There was no "wow" moment during our meal. Basic stuff, fair enough, but not exceptional as we would expect. At the beginning the service was very good, but at the end we felt a bit rushed, as if they needed our table for the next set. Overall this was not a bad experience but an average one.
