An upmarket neighbourhood bistro serving locally focused dishes. We are a bustling one-room restaurant with a comfy bar. Seasonal menus include P.E.I. Blue Dot rib eye steaks, local seafood, and seasonal veg.

Open for lunch service Tuesday-Friday 1130-230
Open for Supper service Tuesday-Sunday 5-10pm
Open for Brunch service Sunday 10-2 pm

We keep bar seating open for walk-ins each night so feel free to pop in.

Reservations recommended, walk-ins welcome but not guaranteed.

***Please note when picking a reservation time that our licence requires minors (even sweet tiny little babies) to be out of the restaurant by 10pm, sorry for the inconvenience.

A delicious delight to enjoy the Dine Around dinner at Edna! Excellent service, pacing of the meal & price. Bravo to Edna for sourcing local & for your chef’s creativity. Thanks so much Paton! We enjoyed it all.

Edna NEVER fails to let me down. I have no idea how they keep such consistent amazing delicious food. And, I can never leave without an order of their scones YUM. Service is impeccable, food comes quick and the ambience is lovely!

First time having the brunch, and it was delicious. Server was super lovely as well.

Our server was excellent. She was attentive and very sweet. Food was fresh, quick to arrive and delicious. Lovely menu and a real gem!

It was just a lovely evening; the ambiance just makes you want to relax, stay and enjoy your time. The food was fantastic and your waitress Cathy boy she knows what comes out of the kitchen. She made our choices even better. This is a very special gem in Halifax, we will be returning.

An absolute delight, so happy to have Edna recommended to me by a work colleague during a recent work trip to Halifax. The staff are great, and so friendly and the food delicious (even though there aren't a lot of vegetarian options). Don't visit Halifax without making a trip to Edna!

This was our first time for lunch at Edna, though we are pretty experienced with dining there in the evening. It’s a short lunch menu but we liked that, and everything on it looked equally appetizing. My friend ordered the nova lox and I had the fish cakes. Both were superb, and were accompanied by perfectly poached eggs and a fresh mass of bright simple greens. I also had the soup of the day which was a delicious silky miso zucchini concoction that tasted, mysteriously, of porcini mushroom. The chef told us the soup contained no mushrooms so, . . . maybe the magic of miso? Service was impeccable, as it always is when we are in for supper. The restaurant was not quite full— and was quiet, which it is not at supper time. A restful and satisfying midday break.
