Eddie Merlots never disappoints. Service is always tremendous and the steaks are top notch. Highly recommend getting the Mac N Cheese as a side, it's hands down the best we have ever had!

For sure this is one of the best restaurants we have been to. The food was delectable and the environment is great as well. To top it off we were served by Frank and he is one of the best servers we have ever encountered

To be fair, it was Valentine’s Day so we expected it to be crowded. We had about a 10 min wait to be seated. They sat us at a table by the front of the restaurant and you could feel a major draft from the front door so we asked to be moved to a booth further back in the restaurant (which they accommodated). My steak was under prepared so they had to take it back to be cooked to the proper temperature. It was delicious. We ordered dessert to go (which took a while to be brought to our table). Or reservation was at 7:45 and we left there around 10:10. Another point, we were 10 min late due to the bad weather (heavy snow). We have rewards with Eddie Merlot. I provided the card number and Travis brought our check but didn’t mention if we had any points or ask if we’d like to use any. That would’ve been a nice touch.

The Steaks and sides were exceptional. Service could have been better. We waited longer than normal to be greeted after being seated. Waited on water and drinks longer than expected. It wasn’t that busy there were open tables and no wait at the host stand. Other than that it was outstanding.

The food was great and the service was good. We were seated near the bar, and just before our food arrived they had a sink backup, and the place really smelled bad. We didn't let it affect our evening, but it was disappointing.

My wife and I dine out pretty often, and Eddie Merlot's charges prices in the range of a Capital Grill or Gibson's, both of which we frequent. This as our first and last visit to Merlot's. We had a reservation, arrived early and were even seated fairly promptly, but still waited over 30 minutes just for appetizers to arrive. Our waitress was actually very personable, but it was clear that she was covering too much territory (she coat checked us as we came in) and that the place is under staffed and not even remotely on par with the type of professional staff at Capital Grille or Gibson's. We don't mind paying for high end service and food, but Merlot's food was just ok, nothing we had was excellent, and just a couple of small examples of our experience: We got a lobster tail, which arrived by itself, no drawn butter or anything you'd normally expect. Second, it was Valentine's day and most of tables were set with white cloths and sprinkled with red rose petals, but my wife and sat in the middle of all these tables wondering why ours didn't have the petals. They brought some when asked, but these types of details separate restaurants. Finally, a dude with his shirt too far unbuttoned and a gold chain hanging out was walking around and may have been the manager. He stopped by tables around us to chat with what appeared to be customers he may have known. He blew by us pretty quickly without really making contact. None of these things by themselves is probably a big deal, but together they reveal a restaurant charging high-end prices without providing high-end service. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, but for the amount of money that we spent we'll go elsewhere next time.

Unfortunately I have to leave a poor review from my experience on Valentine’s Day. Fortunately, the food itself was good and the night wasn’t ruined. We had a nice seat, right by the fireplace, which worked out so well had something to look at while waiting 15 minutes for water and 15 minutes for a half loaf of bread (used to be a full loaf). Our shrimp cocktail came of fairly quickly after the bread, but was a lot smaller than it used to be and was plated rather lazily. Then we sat there for 40 minutes waiting for our entree’s while numerous people around us ordered and received their food. Meanwhile the waiter never checked backed, refilled our water, or reassured us our food would be out shortly. The manager stopped by but only offered excuses for the service. We then went on to listen to a story from our waiter about how he came to the restroom on his birthday while he was ‘high’ and ate so much food. Then we waited 15 minutes for our bill and another 15 for our bill to be brought back. Not a good experience but at least the food itself was good. Not going back to this location again. Too much money for low quality service.
