With Echo & Rig Chef Sam Marvin has introduced a pioneering new concept transforming the long-held theories behind the steakhouse formula.

We put a unique nose-to-tail spin on the traditional steakhouse, allowing diners to indulge in the best cuts of meat for incredibly approachable prices.

A butcher before a steakhouse, we use every part of the animal. We care about every animal - how it lived, what it ate, and how it was cared for.

Our 7,000 square foot space is located in the Downtown Commons Neighborhood (DOCO) in the lobby of The Sawyer Hotel. Situated on the bustling J Street corridor facing the Golden 1 Center main entrance.

We have a versatile space: a private dining room with audio/visual capability, an outdoor patio, and an outdoor bar available for rent.

We arrived on time and were quickly seated. We had excellent service and excellent food in an excellent atmosphere, I was excited to eat here and I will be back for more special celebrations. I am the type of person who is scared to say it’s my birthday because I am shy and easily embarrassed. However, I took a chance and included that my mom and I would be celebrating our birthdays when I made my reservation. We were both able to blow out a candle without it being made into a spectacle and for that I’m so grateful.

We recently visited for our seven year anniversary and were blown away by the service and quality of the food. Our server Sara was so accommodating and flexible, bringing us a celebratory bubbly mocktail instead of champagne. The restaurant did get pretty loud by the end of our meal, but we appreciated our little two top table with the wall that blocked some of the noise. I highly recommend this place for any special events.

The server was okay but a bit awkward. However, the busboy was much better, and I believe he deserves a promotion! The steak was good, though not exceptional, while the bread was amazing! It’s a nice place, but I think the experience would have been better with a different server. Overall, it’s a pleasant restaurant.

My husband and I had a quick lunch seated at the bar. We have eaten here before and have enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and food. Today, we enjoyed crab cake, burrata, steak tartare, and a glass of champagne. The value was good, considering the service, food, etc. We look forward to dining there again. Don't forget to people-watch in the lobby. Well heeled guests if you get my drift.

Celebrated friends 77th birthday at Echo & Rig. Greeted by a very personable hostess who seated upon complete party arrival. Server came over to us and asked if we had previously dined at the restaurant. Some of us had, but most was first time. We ordered drinks, then ordered our meals. Two of us ordered the rib steak caps; only to learn they only had one cap left. It was 6:50 pm and only one left?? Others ordered the salmon, ceasar salad, calamari, and the rib tips. Since there was only one rib cap left, I ordered the bavette steak. The salads were large, the calamari was tasty. The rib tips were tasty, but small portion. Pass on this dish f you and your party are hungry. The steaks are also small portion. The bavvette was tough. Birthday boy to had the last rib steak cap said he’s had better. It was a small cap. For a steak house, you would think the steaks would be great; but they’re not. Service was excellent!! Noisy restaurant, mostly a bar. They did gift a dessert to birthday boy; nice gesture. We wouldn’t be back to this so called steakhouse. Again, server and his aids were excellent .

It was very loud, weird draft on one end of our table. Service was uneven throughout the night- had to repeatedly ask to order drinks, came to check how our meals were before we had even taken a bite then disappeared. Often long wait to find our server. They were out of tomahawks which was disappointing, Dessert menu was very boring as was the execution. Just wasn’t the hushed steakhouse vibe I was hoping for at all. Unlikely to return.

This was my first time at the restaurant. I see why Echo and Rig got many 5 start ratings. The service was top notch. All three of us loved our food. I really like the entire space. We will be back and tell our friends of the wonderful experience we had.
