With Echo & Rig Chef Sam Marvin has introduced a pioneering new concept transforming the long-held theories behind the steakhouse formula.

We put a unique nose-to-tail spin on the traditional steakhouse, allowing diners to indulge in the best cuts of meat for incredibly approachable prices.

A butcher before a steakhouse, we use every part of the animal. We care about every animal - how it lived, what it ate, and how it was cared for.

Our 7,000 square foot space is located in the Downtown Commons Neighborhood (DOCO) in the lobby of The Sawyer Hotel. Situated on the bustling J Street corridor facing the Golden 1 Center main entrance.

We have a versatile space: a private dining room with audio/visual capability, an outdoor patio, and an outdoor bar available for rent.

Situated on the bustling J Street corridor, we proudly share courtyard space with the Golden 1 Center. Originally opened in Las Vegas, Echo & Rig is touted as “The Best Group Dining Experience in Las Vegas”. We are truly a cut above the rest and a top choice for corporate and social entertaining. We have a versatile space: a private dining room with audio/visual capability, an outdoor patio, and an outdoor bar available for rent; we provide in-house food and bar service; and production and styling options. Overall a pleasant experience. The waiter was attentive and knew the menu well. The food was outstanding. The filet was perfectly cooked and the branzino light and delightful. The heirloom tomato, cucumber, and watermelon salad I could eat every day for the rest of my life.

Kim was the best server I’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time. She was so personable, super knowledgeable about the menu and cocktails, and literally made our dining experience so enjoyable. She made recommendations of her favorite items on the menu and we were able to try most of them. They were ALL so tasty! We would definitely get all of them again but now we are curious what else on this menu we missed that are also “must try” items. Highly recommend the portobello fries, the cauliflower appetizer, and the fried spinach salad. We will be back! If you go, ask for Kim as your server. She was just lovely.

As always, excellent food and service! Our waiter and waitress in training were attentive, it was easy to make a reservation, and the food was absolutely delicious.

The food is amazing, the service is outstanding and the drinks were so enjoyable! Echo and Rig is now one of our go to restaurants whenever we’re in the Sacramento area!

The manager, Sean, introduced himself to us after he heard from one of the hostesses that it was our first time dining there. From that moment onward, it was exactly the type of dining experience one would expect from an upscale restaurant. Delicious food, SUPERB service (shout out to our Server and SA: Eric and Jahi), and a very elegant, yet still relaxed atmosphere. This restaurant is the standard-bearer of modern fine dining establishments in Sacramento.

Steaks are high quality, well seasoned and always cooked perfectly. Fried Spinach salad is an absolute must-try and the garlic chips served with the steak are excellent.

Service was great, oysters, salads were delicious. Nice wine selection and very good cocktails (high end). Our only complaint was that everyone’s steak came lukewarm , soon very cool. Flavors were good but having the entree brought to the table at that temperature made our party of 4 reluctant to pay the high price again.

We were a large party of 9 there to celebrate a birthday. We were treated so very well by the entire staff. They were generous with us from start to finish. We were gifted extra apps to try and they accommodated food restrictions with zero problems. Steaks were cooked to perfection for each person- all as specified. Salads and sides were delicious but the favorite surprise were those darn portobello fries! YUM Atmosphere was festive and busy but not too loud. Very fun evening for all.
