Le Eating House 1849 rend hommage au patrimoine culinaire animé de Hawaii avec un clin d'œil aux restaurateurs tels que Peter Fernandez qui, selon ce qu'on raconte, a ouvert un des premiers restaurants à Hawaii vers le milieu des années 1800s, l'appela The Eating House et puisait ses ressources de ce que pouvaient lui offrir les agriculteurs, les éleveurs, les glaneurs et les pêcheurs locaux.     I came to this restaurant for the first time in about 30 years, and the food was a little more creative than it used to be, but I think the taste has improved.

    Our recent dining experience was a delightful blend of attentive service and well-executed dishes. From the moment we were seated, the server assistant Jemel was incredibly efficient, ensuring our water glasses were always full and clearing plates promptly. Our server, Kennedy was knowledgeable and friendly, guiding us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm. The raw oysters made for a great appetizer along with our traditional Hawaiian martinis. For our main courses, the party opted for a variety of seafood preparations. One guest thoroughly enjoyed the butterfish kamameshi, praising its delicate flavors and perfectly cooked rice. Another found the mekajiki sautéed and served with ginger scallion soy to be a vibrant and satisfying choice, highlighting the freshness of the fish. The plantation style paella rice stew was a hearty and flavorful option, rich with seafood and spices, leaving another guest completely satisfied. Lastly, the sautéed mahi-mahi served with truffle garlic caper beurre blanc was a standout for me, the creamy sauce complemented the tender fish perfectly. To conclude our meal, we shared the restaurant's famous chocolate soufflé. It was truly a masterpiece - rich but airy, and intensely chocolatey, a fitting end to an exceptional meal. The service was impeccable, and each dish was thoughtfully prepared and presented. We left feeling thoroughly impressed and eager to return.

    The service was impecable, everyone was so pleasant to be around and was so attentive to our needs. The staff truly celebrated with us as we were celebrating our baby moon and accommodated us in the ways we required. Truly some of the best service I have ever received. The food was all amazing and came out really fast! The live music was a perfect volume and really set the tone. An overall very enjoyable experience, would definitely recommend the prix fixe menu as well!

    Food was outstanding . We ordered a few different appetizers to share . Loved the pork belly bao and the beef short ribs . The staff stole the show . So friendly ,helpful and great service !!

    Mahi and risotto were tasteless. Best of all were the brussel sprouts. Disappointing overall.

    Wow! What a great meal. Our server Sage did an excellent job breaking down the menu. Everything we ordered was spot on. The clams were our favorite. This place will definitely be in our Waikiki restaurant rotation.

    What a huge, expensive disappointment. Four of us went to the happy hour before attending the Cirque du Soleil show. We ordered chicken skewers, ribs (two sets), the regular menu Brussels sprouts, and drinks. The chicken was nasty - way too overcooked (also hard) and the taste was horrible. The ribs (when we have previously had these at Roys, a sister restaurant) we have loved them. These ribs were not the same. Far less meat on the bone and, for the price, a rip off. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. However, we ordered the “regular/full price” order, and the number of sprouts was minimal. The happy hour signature drink is basically 1/2 the size for 1/2 the price, so not really any discount. My sister ordered a non-alcoholic drink and it was $10. My brother in law ordered a mai tai and it was $16. We had requested an outdoor table, but they had a large party, so we ended up being in a dark table indoors (not ideal for Hawaii). All in all, this was an expensive happy hour with high prices and subpar food.

    Service is top notch! Live music is great. Sushi is delicious and thoughtful. Kanpachi cooked beautifully. Risotto could use some refinement, but overall, a wonderful evening.
