So glad we tried Eataly last night. The place was crowded as to be expected since it just opened. For anyone who doesn’t drink carbonation there are no soft drink options aside from water. After being told that all the bread is made to order we chose one that arrived cold and hard ish. When asked I was told that particular bread was a harder bread and the server did not respond when it was noted that she did not make that clear. The butternut squash ravioli was a bit tough and not that flavorful. The halibut was delicious however. Dessert options are limited but there are other choices at the counter to go get.

Had been anticipating Eataly coming to my area of NJ. Made a reservation for 2 which had to be at 5:15 bc there was nothing else until very late. Yet while we sat there and as we left at 6:45 there were empty tables all around us. Perhaps that was to insure smoother service during the first week. In fact, we had great service from Roger and we will ask for him in the future bc he was sweet, earnest and wanted to succeed. Small glitches like needing to ask for water when all we had to drink were cocktails we ordered. They were delicious by the way. We ordered a focaccia for the table which was moist and nicely chewy. Calamari and Zuchini fritti was light and crisp with a dish of aoli. Then we ordered a pizza with Burrata and Prosciutto which was generous in both these featured ingredients. At one point we looked around and realized that the ambiance/decor reminded us of the United Polaris lounge. Not a lot of warmth to the room. Many hard surfaces. It may get noisy when crowded but they were intentionally not allowing that this opening week.

The food was amazing as expected! The service was great, and the maitre’d or manager (not sure which) brought me back in time to the good old days of true hospitality. Well done!

So much potential just needs some fine tuning with their service which is to be expected on day two. Looking forward to dining again soon.

First week printer problems does not excuse a 90 minute lunch? Pizza was good Caesar salad was fresh and delicious Italian cola Fresh with pasta bolognese and salmon for $125??! Service was marginal as more staff is needed

It was quite disappointing. The service was unbearably slow out of the kitchen. The waitress tried and she was charming, but it took 30 minutes to get a drink and 40 minutes to get our pizza, etc. which then came out in the wrong order. Manager said something about a Wi-Fi glitch. Several tables had the same complaints. Food was OK. The pizza barely had any porchetta. The kale-brussels sprout salad was mostly tough kale. Limoncello cocktail was kind of boring. Overall one and done. Adjacent market is nice if you like very expensive imported goods.

Absolutely love Eataly. The staff and manager were exceptionally nice and professional and the food was delicious. Order the fried calamari! I ordered it for myself and my girlfriend ate most of it. The caesar salad as really good, and I thought the halibut was excellent!

I love it. The restaurant and market section everything was very nice. It is a clean and big place
