    The food was meh. Not awful. Not awesome. But the price was certainly astronomical. Made a reso for dining room. When we arrived, the patio was totally empty save for 2 tables. The weather was quite nice, so we asked if we could sit on the patio instead of in the dining room. They acted as if they had to rewrite a national constitution and finally said that we could, but we had to wait 10-15 minutes. I literally don’t know what was going to change in 10 to 15 minutes that would make it magically possible to sit there since it was almost empty anyway. It’s just a performance to simulate “exclusivity”. We opted not to bother and just sit in the dining room then. Sheesh. And of course, with entire sections completely empty save for a table or two, they sat us right next to a bunch of other occupied tables - for the server’s convenience, not for ours. While our server was nice enough, the performance art of it all got tired for us real fast. Too many questions about our day, what we were doing that was special, what our plans were for after dinner, a presentation of the wine that included a diatribe about Post Malone (!) and how it had a glass cork … enough. We are polite and cooperative customers, realizing that waitstaff are human beings just trying to do a job. That said, we aren’t there to make friends and start answering questions that, frankly, cross boundaries. Enough with the trained script that extols faux friendliness, but covers up imperfect service. (One of our orders came wrong). Be courteous and competent. That’s all any diner needs. Last note: I am now one of those people who is completely tired of the excessive tipping culture. Enough of it. When you hand me the machine to pay the bill and my options are 18% and above, I will deliberately pick “other” and put 12%. If I am not presented with this option, I usually will put 15%.
