Fourteen of us visited the Eagle and Child at lunch time and all enjoyed our meals. Service was good with enough time to wait between courses. Lunchtime menu was reasonably priced and the restaurant was quiet so we could chat. All in all a good experience.

This was the second weekend we have eaten at the eagle , ordering fish and chips, the fish was full of bones and coated in a thick batter that was inedible, the pie was crusty and dry around the edges as though it had been sat under a hot lamp for a few hours , very disappointing. We eat at the eagle regularly and seems to have deteriorated in recent weeks

Good food and good service staff very friendly some small children no problem 2/3 allowed to wander noisely

We came for my girlfriends birthday meal with family and it wasn't particularly busy, my girlfriend had been a few weeks previously and really enjoyed it. Everybody's food was really poor, the roast dinners looked like they'd been under a heat lamp for a long time and my whole pie order arrived wrong and was barely edible. We were very disappointed but the waiting staff were very good and took some money off our bill but it didn't make up for the poor quality of the food.

Service was excellent also surrounds But disappointed with the food as it’s usually very good The triple cooked chips were very pale and uninviting and my fish wasn’t cooked properly

We have been here many times and had the lamb Sunday roast and always thought it was excellent. This time it was poor. We asked for medium rare and got the lamb very rare. The parsnips and Yorkshire puddings were burnt. The potatoes felt like they had been reheated and the broccoli did not feel fresh. We had taken someone there for a special occasion and came away very disappointed

Meal came out cold. Advised staff and he came back few mins later with it pipping hot. I jokingly said oh this has been microwaved and he said yes! Value for money was poor for my meal

Lovely food, lovely staff.. so nice to finally have a really nice place to eat, drink and get together in Halewood.

Staff were great, food was ok bit greasy but tasty, chips arrived cold but were changed. Atmosphere was nice really warm inside even with all the windows open.
