Brian Dunsmoor’s namesake restaurant, Dunsmoor, is the latest iteration of his ongoing exploration of American heritage cooking. It is, first and foremost, a restaurant for the community that surrounds it, and a loving expression of the relentless research that has informed his cooking for the last ten years.

We offer the full menu at tables in our dining room and at the chef's counter, as well as at our outdoor tables. Reservations are recommended but we make every effort to accommodate walk-ins when possible.

Dunsmoor's wine bar, accessible either through the restaurant or via its own door on Ave 35, does not accept reservations and serves a limited menu of our raw and larder items.

D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Peu de chef·fe·s maîtrisent la cuisine au feu de bois comme Brian Dunsmoor, qui a fait ses classes chez la star sudiste Hatchet Hall avant d'ouvrir son restaurant éponyme en 2022. We ordered 5 dishes and 3 of them were the best version of that dish we’d ever had. The albacore was so unique and fresh, perfect starter, the cornbread is to die for, and we inhaled the cheese and chive potatoes. All three were the best we’d had of those dishes. The ribeye was also phenomenal, perfectly cooked and the marrow added quite a bit to it. The killed chicories were not recommended but we went for it anyway; it was very good but inconsistent bite to bite, the lettuce itself something to be desired. We left very full, when we go back we’ll probably re-order those three killer items, try the pork chop and skip the chicories altogether. Cannot recommend this place enough, service was also phenomenal!

Vibes, food, and service are all amazing! We had a meal on the lighter side so ordered ample amount of appetizers in which were all very unique. We recommend the killed chicory, cornbread, and beef tar tare.

Exceptional food. Everything sounded really delicious, so we put ourselves in the hands of our server, and she rose to the occasion by selecting a fantastic meal for us. Several staff members came by to check on us and everyone we encountered was great. Great wine as well—we wound up having glasses of a couple of things we had never tried before. We chose to sit at the chef's bar, the version in front of the wood oven. We loved that experience, but diners should be aware it gets HOT. The host staff told us that when we arrived so we knew this going in. Sitting there definitely added to the meal though, as you really feel you are right in the kitchen. We'll be back, and soon!

Every dish was spectacular- we had the cornbread, quail, succotash, Brussels sprouts, sand dabs and duck. A delicious glass of wine. And the best chocolate cake ever. Can’t wait to go back.

Dunsmoor has become one of my favorite restaurants. The food is incredible and with the changing menu you’ll always have a new experience here. One thing that has stayed on the menu is the cornbread. As a tip, save it for last, it’s wonderful as a desert.

It is just too loud and it would be great if there were more light (less calorie intense) items on the menu

A generous 4* because management went above and beyond to make us happy. The food is excellent, but it comes with an attitude. That is to say, they require you to order all at plates at the same time and say they will pace the meal, but they never do. We ordered a bottle of wine, and 4 plates; cornbread, quail app, and 2 entrees. Finished bread and they immediately dropped the two entrees. We mentioned that we hadn't yet gotten the app and they said it was coming. We mentioned we didn't want it then, and they brought it as we were 2/3 of the way through the entrees. Again, we said we didn't want at that point. 33 minutes from taking our order until we were finished with the food. I've had longer meal service at fast food places. Manager was great about it and offered a glass of bubbles (we don't drink them), and then offered dessert. At that point we weren't interested and just finished the wine. She was terrific about it but we were disappointed and wanted to just go. If we go back, we will be more strategic about ordering and pace ourselves. If they refuse, so be it. But, it's too pricey a place to not enjoy a meal at a comfortable pace.

Loved the freshness and flavor of all the foods. The cornbread is the best cornbread I've ever had. Pork chop and mashed potatoes was a highlight! Also get the beef tartare

This was our third meal at Dunsmoor and it was excellent, 10/10, no notes. All the dishes were perfect - albacore, cornbread. succotash salad, pork rips, potatoes and chives. Thank you for an amazing birthday dinner experience!
