Brian Dunsmoor’s namesake restaurant, Dunsmoor, is the latest iteration of his ongoing exploration of American heritage cooking. It is, first and foremost, a restaurant for the community that surrounds it, and a loving expression of the relentless research that has informed his cooking for the last ten years.

We offer the full menu at tables in our dining room and at the chef's counter, as well as at our outdoor tables. Reservations are recommended but we make every effort to accommodate walk-ins when possible.

Dunsmoor's wine bar, accessible either through the restaurant or via its own door on Ave 35, does not accept reservations and serves a limited menu of our raw and larder items.

One of our new favorite spots - maybe the best dinner we've had out in Los Angeles. Great anniversary place, while still having a chill ambiance. Every dish was a hit - the albacore, the tartare, the cornbread...and I'm still thinking about that pork chop.

Dunsmoor is deserving of all the accolades it's received since it opened. First, the food is fantastic. Our favorites were the sour milk cornbread, the pork & green chili stew, and the freakin mushroom-crusted pork chop. We ordered a total of five dishes for two people and came home with leftovers. The energy in the dining area was buzzing. If you can book a table at the chef's counter, do it. There you get a closer look at the open hearth where the chefs cook many of the dishes. It's a show unto itself. The staff are efficient and friendly cleaning off our table area, checking in on us, and answering our first-timer questions. Parking is a bit of a challenge if you decide against the valet, but it beats parking in front of area residents' homes. I can't wait to return to try their summer menu, which I heard is coming soon!

The cobbler needs more crumbles on top. It was too mushy. We kept having to ask the waiter to bring us water. Would be better service if they just brought the water continuously.

Will start with saying the food is amazing, without question. Pork chop is mind blowing. That being said it’s wildly (and I mean wildly) overpriced. $21 for cornbread feels like someone is playing a prank (yes, it’s delicious but still…) I maybe wouldn’t be so concerned with prices if the service was exceptional but like…we didn’t even have a server? Nobody came to our table for about ten minutes. Then finally the hostess asked if our server had been over. We said no. She was super nice and filled our water glasses. Then another 5-10 minutes and finally someone came up and said “I’m helping your server out are you ready to order?” We said we haven’t even been greeted by a server or know who our server is and also we have some questions about the menu before we order…she answered our questions and took our drink order. Still, no server. Someone else came up 10 mins later and asked if we were ready to order. We said “are you are server?” to which they said “no, I’m just helping your server out.” Lol ok. So we order with her and our food comes out and it’s all delicious but we still have no server so we never once have someone ask us how it is or if we need anything. I understand a server getting in the weeds and needing help - been there before. But to never once come to the table the entire meal for a $200+ dinner is…wild. TLDR: food was fantastic but wildly overpriced, especially considering the service we received (or didn’t receive).

The steak is the thing to order. The cornbread and Caesar salad were also really great. The communal table arrangement makes conversation uncomfortable and encourages awkward eavesdropping. The open kitchen with expediter screaming over the din added to the poor acoustic design makes this place crushingly loud, which is extremely frustrating because the food was excellent.
