Our host at our accommodation recommended Dunkerley's Restaurant so my wife and I went there with high expectations. We were bitterly disappointed. The menu had limited choice and was quite expensive. We waited a very long time before we could order drinks and food. The meal, when it eventually arrived, was passable but not what we considered as being value for the money. We then waited thirty minutes before we could order our dessert which was Tarte Tatin for both of us. (We were told there would be a wait of nine and a half minutes for this dessert.) After continually waving to get the waitresses attention we were told there was a little delay. (Apparently not only did they have a full restaurant to cater for, everyone came in at once being a Friday evening but a full Bistro there too.) The dessert eventually came after around thirty minutes. I asked for the bill then and there so we didn't face the prospect of waiting a further thirty minutes to pay. We won't be going there again.t

W ordered the £120 special - steak, scallops, prawns, Lobster and chips. The meat was tender but tasteless as was everything else bar the scallops. Much of the food was luke warm. The lobster and prawns were over cooked which is probably why they lacked flavour. The accompanying sauces had very strong flavours so were dominant rather than subtle. The chips were luke warm. We were not asked about the food by staff during or after the meal.

I had been recommend Dunkerley’s by friends. I took my husband for lunch on Sunday. We was so disappointed. We had soup to start, which was broccoli and Stilton. It was blamed and artificially bright almost radioactive green. My husband had turkey roast. With sauté potatoes as they had no roast potatoes. The vegetables were not suitable for a roast. Asparagus, cabbage and mangetout. I had lamb which was over powered by the excess of gravy which was not lamb gravy but beef. My dinner looked more like soup. The dessert was lovely. Sadly we only enjoyed one out of the three course.

Was surprised to only get 2 vegetables with the lamb dish in the evening. Apart from that food was good.

Consistently good food. Wonderful staff. We regularly eat here as a result.

Delightful service and good food, the waitress was outstanding which made a perfect lunch - would definately return.

Lovely service, food was pretty average and the decor was dated. Unlikely to go here again.

Cons; no salt and pepper on the tables (had to go looking for it as no staff around at the time), entire salad that accompanied the double baked goats cheese starter was warm/limp. It felt quite stuffy in the restaurant after a while but that could be down to my age 😔 Pros; lovely, quiet atmosphere but we were the fist people in the restaurant so had the place to ourselves for the majority of our meal. Service was quick and staff were friendly. The lamb shoulder was absolutely divine and made up for any negatives 🤤 Would definitely dine here again on our next trip to Deal.
