DUNE by Laurent Tourondel is South Florida’s only celebrity chef-driven oceanfront restaurant and special event venues able to accommodate social, corporate gatherings, beachfront weddings, and other special occasions from 10 - 500 people with customized menus by Chef Laurent Tourondel in addition to oceanfront meetings and events.     Just had to stop by one more time before we went back home. We ordered from the prix fixe menu. It was FANTASTIC! Thank you Diana and to the entire staff for another memorable evening

    Reservation process on-line was inadequate to select Happy Hour table, seating or bar area. Hostess started to greet us and identified our reservation. We were then asked to wait. Another couple without a reservation was greeted and a female manager interrupted the hostess who dealing with the unreserved guest. The manager was updating the hostess on upcoming reservations. Meanwhile we were left to overhear and observe information that did not involve us. Interestingly the couple without a reservation was managed, while we waited. We were finally seated and were informed by the server that the Happy Hour menu was not available at the table where we were already seated. We began to review the wine list and the summer menu and were considering accepting the regular menu. My wife was not finding anything to her liking. The server asked about drinks and we selected the sommelier choice of a red for both of us. After a while the server came back with two red tastings. I asked about the sommeliers choices on the main menu and she could not explain why it was not available. I directed her to the losing on the menu and asked if I was wrong in any way to have expected this should be available. We continued to review the menu and I realized the wine tastings were not in my budget. We did not partake of the samplings. We were dismayed that we were not receiving the experience we had expected and planned for. We asked and were directed to the bar. Things got better when we met Ben the Bar Waiter. We were still within the rules for Happy Hour but. Opted the Bar Menu Happy Hour is listed as 5 to 7pm, whereas the info through Open Table is 4 to 6pm. We had the calamari and shrimp Fritti with jalapeños. It was excellent. We both had the burger with truffles and Carmelized onions. It came with Fries. Everything was excellent. We had 2 glasses of wine each and skipped dessert. Someone should go on the Open Table and revamp the way information is made available to new customers.

    This was our first visit and plan on attending when we are in town again. The food was amazing and the service, stellar.

    Amazing meal and experience overall. The crispy beef carpaccio had no flavor and too much mayonaisse. The sushi was excellent as well as the Lobster Fra Diavlo.

    fantastic all around. Great place and food was delicious. Will definitely go back but it is so nice so sit outside when the weather is cooler. the bar outside is fabulous

    Whenever we are in Ft. Lauderdale we will not miss Dune. The service, the food, the presentation are all top shelf. Last night we sat outside with a view of the atlantic and couldn't have had a better experience. Our waitress Diana was perfect and Adam checked with us several times to make sure everything was just right. We enjoyed the Grilled Seabass Souvlaki “Mediterranean-Style” with a side of Cauliflower Couscous. EVERYTHING was perfection.

    We came early for a dining reservation. The gate from the beach was not open even though the restaurant was, but the waitress was really good at opening it up for us and subsequent guests. We checked in for our reservation and then asked if we could take part in the happy hour, and were told that is was available only outside in the lounge and bar area. We went out and had a seat at a table, and were told that the tables were only for dinner service, so we moved over to the couches. We had been under the impression we could not sit there for dinner, but then were given all of the menus. Basically, we moved 6ft in order to take advantage of happy hour specials and have the possibility of having our dinner as well. We were a bit flustered, and ultimately decided to just to happy hour and nix the dinner reservation. We were glad we did, because while the food was decent, it was not (in our opinion) worth the prices they were charging for full price or a sign of what dinner might have been at even higher prices. We had a good experience, and it all worked out, but it could have been more negative. Our waitress was excellent though!!! Service was wonderful.

    Service was not at the same level as in previous visits, unfortunately. Our server was confused with our wine choices cab sav vs sav blanc, food runners deliver the food asking who ordered what? This outlet requires a better level of service which it uses to have. The food quality and beverage execution was very good . Not sure what happened since our last visit ? Maybe since our party was 6pax so the 20% gratuities is confirmed in advance?
