Dragon Castle is a Chinese restaurant based in Elephant and Castle, London.

We're known for serving some of the freshest Dim Sum South of the river, and we pride ourselves on knowing that we provide this for our customers. With 56 dishes to choose from, there's something for everyone! Every little dumpling is handcrafted on-site by our chefs who have spent years honing their skills in the art of Dim Sum, so you know you're getting the best, from the best!

Alongside our famous Dim Sum is our extensive main menu which has been a firm favourite amongst local residents and visiting tourists for over 16 years. We source all our produce locally enabling us to serve you fresh food of the highest quality while supporting local businesses too.

    Our restaurant can be exclusively hired for birthday parties, formal receptions and private dinners.For intimate gatherings, our restaurant can seat up to 20 guests in our private function room. For larger parties, you can hire out the entire restaurant along with our stage area that can be customised to your requirements.

    Food was not good at all ! The fried rice tasted like boiled white rice mixed with veggies absolutely disgusting the ribs tasted like they had just been microwaved ! And the seabass had no flavour what so ever the food tasted so bad would not be coming her ever again ! Not good at all and to top it up they were washing dishes were we could see and they was a weird smell And oh when I arrived with guest I was told that I didn't have a reservation even though I had a confirmation text ... the servers did not know what they were doing most of the time ... please avoid at all cost !!

    Servers were very friendly and attentive, kept topping up our (tap) water without having to ask. We ordered plates to share between a group and the plates came when ready (rather than all at once) which was nice. For the mains, portion sizes were large - the braised yee mein noodles and wok fried beef ho fun tasted great! Great value for money, it ended up being a lot cheaper than we expected once we split between us.

    I looked forward to returning to Dragon Castle after several years. Sadly the once excellent dishes have lost their flair. We started with the prawn wonton soup which is always a good measure of a Chinese restaurant. The broth was tasteless, no stock or seasoning, just cabbage water with some cabbage and onion. The four large prawn dumplings also lacked flavour. Soft shell crab which is a favourite came in a light crisp batter with chillies but no seasoning, garlic etc. The best dish was the salt and pepper squid which was moist and nicely seasoned with a light dusting of batter. After the disappointing appetisers we decided not to order any more dishes. The teas however were great value and came in nice big pots and the ambiance was quiet. Takeaway quality in what used to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in south London - a great shame.

    Been going for 20 years and it feels like a couple of children are playing at being restauranteurs. They’ve taken over what was an excellent restaurant, sacked dim sum chefs and excellent waiters and have no idea how to serve. Our “waitress” leant over our food, could not pick up more than two dishes at a time, seemed completely disinterested in the food or serving or even being there. A bizarre experience all round. Just appalling and such a shame that this South London institution has been cannibalised. I mean how wrong can rice get in a Chinese restaurant for goodness sake

    Good location! Sometimes the food is not always 10/10 but even when it isn’t it’s rock solid 8-9 out of 10. The service is great even at super busy times which is hard to say for a lot of places. My go to for food in London!

    Terrible service. We got there (with a reservation) just after 12, when it opens. By 12:30 our food hadn’t arrived (though everyone around us was being served). We asked our waiter and they came back with an excuse about a mix-up, but that they’ve asked the kitchen to prepare our order quickly. We also spoke to the manager who offered a discount and an apology. We thought, ok. 10 mins later they bring one dish that we had not ordered (waiter confused the table). 11:46 they brought just one of our dishes (it’s dim sums so you order several). By 12:55 (50 mins after we’d sat down) the rest of the order hadn’t arrived so we decided to leave. Not going back. Ever.

    Excellent dim sum and menu dishes. It can be very noisy depending where you sit. You need to book on week ends

    The website and pictures are very misleading. The food portions were terrible. The dim sum ( chefs selection) were all of vegetable filling, not as advertised ( pork, chicken, prawns). The ambiance resembles a military 60s canteen. The service was almost non existent, the waiters are careless. Overall you will be in for a shock when you get there. ( be careful the online reviews are written from all staff members....
