Based in the coastal town of Folkestone, on the South-East coast of England, Dr Legumes is a Community Interest Company that uses plant-based food as a tool to communicate the ethos of health-conscious food within our local community. We are passionate about blending local and exotic flavours to create a unique plant based dining experience.

We are a community interest company, invested in providing accessible workshops to engage our community in the ethos of LIFE.MADE.BETTER Our workshops are designed to engage our local community by using food to promote and focus on health, well-being & sustainability. We facilitate these workshops within the restaurant space at Dr Legumes.

As part of the Folkestone Food festival this weekend, Dr Legumes are back with another Secret Dinner Club, offering a 'Set Menu" for our evening service on Friday & Saturday. We will be serving 3 courses of small plates paired with 3 accompanying wines for a fixed price (£45pp) (without wines £30). Showcasing the fresh, local and seasonal produce we have available in our local area with a fusion of international flavors. My niece is a vegan, my husband and I are not. The food was absolutely amazing, nothing could be faulted. My husband has said that he thinks it is the best meal he has eaten out. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Thank you for a fantastic evening.

Dr Legumes is open Friday and Saturday evenings, but well worth the wait. The staff were wonderful and could not do more for you. We did not know what some of the things on the menu were and the chef actually came and explained the dishes in detail making suggestions and changes for intolerances. The food when it arrived was the most beautifully presented food I’ve have ever eaten; it was like a Michelin star restaurant and I do not exaggerate. We did not drink so I cannot comment on the wine but did note that a small glass of wine was £2 more than the restaurant the night before. We were so full that we took dessert away with us and this was fabulous too. We ate at three very good restaurants during our stay in Folkestone and you may be put off by Dr Legumes if you are not vegan, but don’t, go and you will love it!!

The food was delicious and the service was great. Portion sizes could have been a little bigger. We were hungry again not too long after leaving.

A great place, with lovely food. All freshly prepared and tastes really good. Good service too. We very much enjoyed our meal there, would highly recommend, even if you're not vegan.

The restaurant has a lovely bohemian vibe to with music playing but not too loudly to drown out conversation and there was much conversation with particular regard to the wonderful food! My husband and I love coming here. The staff are super attentive without hovering! This was a 2nd visit and can see us coming back again and again. Superb!

My husband and I are not vegetarians and can honestly say that the food delivered by this establishment is sublime. This is the 2nd time that we have visited and now that we have found their new location we will be going more often!
