Dorothy's Cocktail & Oyster Bar, named for chef and owner Daniel Auffenberg's maternal grandmother, Dorothy Crane, is an upscale restaurant on St. Simon's Island. Dorothy's serves raw fresh seafood and other coastal cuisine alongside many dishes inspired by Daniel and his wife, Claire's, travels to Southeast Asia. Dorothy's has a large focus on craft cocktails, both original and classics.

The atmosphere is unique to St Simons. More sophisticated. My dining companion and I both had the smash burger. Very tasty but mine could have used more of the sauce. I ordered the Vieux Carre cocktail and thought it was very good. The dessert not so much. The extra large chocolate chip cookie was very dry (close to burned). Neither of us finished our cookies. This was my second visit to Dorothy's so I know other items on the menu can be more satisfactory.

Five friends dined here for the first time. Excellent server, service wine selection and enrees/appetizers.

This was our second time to Dorothy's for a girls trip weekend and it never disappoints. I think the owner was there that night and a bachelorette group and it was SO MUCH FUN. They turned up the music and one point and everyone was dancing around. One of my favorite nights ever. Can't forget the spicy noodles that my friends and I talk about the whole year leading up to the trip!

First timers at this restaurant. Was a little disappointed that the bar did not carry our usual liquor preferences but we did find a great Rosé wine. We requested a 4 topper table but they couldn't accommodate our request, however they allowed us to sit outside on their patio and it was a beautiful night. Service started out a little slow, but then they dedicated a server who was great. The Chef even came out to apologize for the delay in service, but after that everything was wonderful! Would definitely try it again.

Jules, thank you for your review. It was nice to speak with you on the patio. I would like to personally apologize for the slow service you received when you arrived. That is never something we want to see happen. I am also sorry that our bar didn't have your spirit preferences. The bar was lacking of the three spirits by husband wanted. The bartender made me a martini that was his recipe, nice effort but the waitress couldn’t even remember what was in it. Food was not to our standards and the market price they charged us. The place looks nice inside, outside looks like it could take a little reorganization, they had chairs on top of each other and not very appealing. We were a little disappointed because we could have chosen any other restaurant before returning to The Cloisters where we are staying. Not a restaurant for a special occasion.

It was our bartender's intention to offer something unique with the martini, but it’s clear that we fell short in effectively communicating its ingredients and ensuring it aligned with your preferences. We enjoyed a delicious assortment of oysters, appetizers and small plates. Each was unique and flavorful. The cocktail selection is extensive and varied. We will most certainly be back to this terrific addition to SSI dining.

The happy hour deals are great, very good value. The outside area is good as well, weather permitting.

The food is delicious and the ambience was great! They tried to seat us at this tiny table at the door and so we asked to sit at the bar. Where they never asked us if we wanted another drink a refill on our water etc I had to ask every time. Then we ordered dessert and waited half an hour and it never came, and they never checked on us. So I we had to flag one of the bar tenders to get our check. I love the food and ambience but I will say the service was below par and I felt like the head bar tender was a little smug. I have dined hear in the past so I was surprised at their lack of attentiveness and not so great customer service. As a travel advisor I probably will not recommend them to my customers because of the lack of customer service.
