Dorothy's Cocktail & Oyster Bar, named for chef and owner Daniel Auffenberg's maternal grandmother, Dorothy Crane, is an upscale restaurant on St. Simon's Island. Dorothy's serves raw fresh seafood and other coastal cuisine alongside many dishes inspired by Daniel and his wife, Claire's, travels to Southeast Asia. Dorothy's has a large focus on craft cocktails, both original and classics.

I was very excited to try this restaurant but was sadly disappointed. The decor is lovely and the menu is interesting with a great drink menu too. Service was friendly but very slow. We ordered several small plates and despite one fail all were good but not outstanding. The one fail was the scallion pancake which was not cooked on the inside and scorched on the outside. My husband and I were seated at a tiny bar table (I made reservations a week in advance) despite empty tables and the noise level was loud. I hope this very cute place gets better with time.

Great Happy Hour drinks and food. Great service. Brussel Sprouts Salad was excellent.

10/10! Unbelievable service at Dorothy’s! The BEST meal we had on our Jekyll vacation weekend. Our server Eta was incredible, attentive, conversational (to a perfect extent) and knew every detail of the menu. She is everything you want in a server. One of our party is gluten-free, and when we ordered desserts for the table to share and she could only really have the ice cream from the side of the bread pudding, Eta went to the kitchen and brought her out a complimentary bowl of assorted sorbets and ice creams—and then followed up with a complimentary tray of Cava for us to enjoy. Ambiance is perfection, dinner was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Will definitely come back next time we are visiting this area!

My wife and I visited in hopes of a few great cocktails and unique food. Dorothy’s delivered! We can’t wait to go back!

Ambience and Service was outstanding! Several of our dishes were not enjoyable due to the over seasoning-especially on salt. Would I go back…possibly but not in the near future.

Dorothy’s is unique to St. Simons. The feel is more cosmopolitan than many of the other local restaurants. The interior is well decorated. The atmosphere lends itself to a fun dining experience. All of the meals we’ve enjoyed at Dorothy’s are top notch. And the drinks are quite nice, too.

I’ve had dinner with a friend here and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to bring my birthday. Our server was so great and made great recommendations on dishes to try. You can’t go wrong with any of the cocktails or dishes!
